From I've read he seems to be a competent choice and was not involved in the appointment scandal. Also, Blagojevich was a serving governor who had the right to appoint him. He might in fact be the only honorable, qualified candidate the governor of Illinois ever made. I don't have any problem at all with the seating of Roland Burris.

If it turns out when this investigation is over htat he was involved it will bite them in the butt that they seated him.

I know that this is going to be kind of shocking but Burris does deserve to be the Senator from Illinois. Burris was chosen by the Governor of Illinois to replace Barack Obama. Now the true question should be why was Blogo allowed to make the decision in the first place? Why did it take so long for the Illinois House to Impeach Blogo? If the Illinois House had done the deed before Burris was picked then we would not have to be dealing with this in the first place.

I agree. They should have impeached him before he even got the chance to make that decision.

I don't think there is a way around giving him the seat. Although I'm sure a lot of people will look into it to see that everything is on the up-and-up. He might still lose it, if they can somehow proof he 'bought' it, lol. It might come out during the Blagojevich proceedings.
Personally I wouldn't want it based on the Blagojevich appointment. Just too tainted. But some people don't care;)
