Have you ever been to Glastonbury festival? What are your views about it?

I have just bought a ticket to go the world famous Glastonbury Festival, which people from right round the world attend. I will only have a short distance to go, living less that 25 miles (40 kilometres) away from the festival site at Pilton. Now at least it is easier to buy tickets, for which I think there are actually two reasons or more, not just the credit crunch.
This will be the first time I have ever gone, having heard so much about it in the past, and having applied for tickets, which in years gone by have sold out within one day!
Last year, there was some controversy, that the headline acts were not in the true tradition of Glasto. Shirley Bassey was a top act and not a more rock and roll band...
I could go on, now it's over to you, what would you like to say about the festival?

I've never been, but I hear about the festival every year, as it usually gets into the news, and is always discussed a lot on the radio.
I hope you have a wonderful time. I think it will be a great experience to be there.

Yes, I'm really looking forward to going. Am aiming to get there when the gates first open to bag a top camping spot! Hoping to get a local bus to go there. Heard from someone at work how what a nightmare it can be to get out of the muddy car parks (parking lots) in the field, with local farmers pulling people out with tractors!
It will really be quite something, as I have gone to the town of Glastonbury many times, but never to the festival...

Thanks for the best wishes. I have said to people in the past, that I would like to go at least once. THIS is the festival that most other festivals have modelled themselves on! Bit of a gulp, when I saw the £184.50 (approx. US$245) disappear from my bank account though - am sure it will be worth it! Not in a relationship at the mo. but I thought what the hell, I'm going anyway!!!

Yes, I'm glad I've taken the plunge! Will probably have a few nervous moments preparing my luggage, tent etc and travelling there, but expect it will turn out "real good!" as our USA friends might say! And giving you BR too!
