I have asked several people about this and all of them said "Not that I know of." And I have never heard of this either. To the banquet dinners and such I can see, but to actually see the inaugration...never heard of it. It almost seems to be like the superbowl or something.... Weigh in here please.

I dont know if they charged in the past but I have to say your right it seems to be turning into a spectacle. Charging for seats. When did the inaguration turn into a profit making event for our country. Now who gets the money that is collected from selling the seats? I dont understand why we have to pay for something that as a united states citizen I should be allowed to attend as a constitutional right with out being charged. But what do I know as a lowly citizen?

Hey now...he might plan on using this money to help our economy....I mean we have to give him a chance to earn our support. You have reflected a lot of my thoughts here in this response...and I think it would be interesting to find out exactly where all those taxpayers money is going.

The tickets to the inauguration are free and, from what I've heard, it's a crime to sell them. Many of the other events do cost but not the inauguration itself. It's a public event and, therefore, there can't be a price tag attached.
