My son is at the stage where he is imitationg things that me and my husband are doing. He's wearing our shoes even though it's really big for him walking around the house awkwardly. We are now careful with words that we're using because he starts to imitate it even though he can't pronounce it well. What about you guys, have your children done this things and what changes have you done because your kids are imitating what you're doing. Would be glad to hear your ides. Happy posting!

My children are all grown up now. I remember those days of them wearing my high heels around the house. It was so cute! I think that once you have a child you have to be careful to set a good example in everything that you do. Some people have to watch their language, some their tempers. I think it all came very natural to me and my husband. We really didn't have any horrible habits that we had to be careful of.

Hi sunshine4! Me and my husband also doesn't have horrible habits that we should be careful of. I said earlier this morning shut up as joke to a toy that keeps repeating what it says. He then copied me in he's own way of saying shut up. Me and my husband then said that we have to be really careful.

Once I was watching a friends baby and she was eating pretzels right before being picked up. She had pretzel all over her face and I said to her mom, sorry, she looks like a scum baby. Didn't my daugther ~ 3 at the time, say, "Emily is a scum baby?!" OOPS~

My youngest son is three in May and he has been imitating us for a while now. He just loves to walk around in my shoes. I brought some boots last week and before i had a chance to wear them there he was walking around the house in them. He looked so funny. He also got hold of his sister nail varnish and decided he wanted to paint his nails just like she does, but did not stop at his nails he had it all over his hands as well. So all make up now has been put up high out of his reach. We also have to watch what we say around him as his speech is very good and he copies everything we say.

My child is three, and she says and does everything that I do. It is imprtant to be a bit cautios of what to say and do, even more when she starts school. sh tries to make make up, perfume lipsticks wearing jewelery, she does as I do when going out. By imitation us they are growing and experimenting the world around them, I love to see her imitate me, however there are sometimes that I really cannot make anything when she is around.

Yeah, I know what you mean. And sometimes you check yourself in the middle of what you're doing thinking if it's a good idea to let them see what you're doing. Have a nice day!
