Obamas first major battle

It looks like Obama's first major battle will be with congress and the american people. Congress is really cold on doing more bail outs and so are the american people. But Obama wants more bail outs. How do you think he will convience not only congress but the american people that this is a good idea? Do you think this is a good idea?

I think america as a whole needs a bail out. I am not impressed with Obama but some people surely are.I think fixing our country should be priority and we should not meddle in other countries affairs but that is already being done. How about helping California for starters I watched the news about how their economy is at the moment and was like god I thought where I lived was bad. Obamas Inauguration cost as you mentioned in another post alone could provide jobs and help for the people near me who are having to loose their homes and move out of state. My thoughts on bail outs and Obama are simple,bail out whatever as long as it helps America in the long run.

Oh I agree with you believe me. An example would be the big three. I live in Michigan and the choices made by the auto companies effects everyone here. I find it laughable that they were bailed out only to turn around and hire another country to build parts for their new cars.What a crock.

The billions that have been thrown away in bail outs for far have not help anything. But it has dug us into a deeper hole. Our national debt is even bigger and the dollar is worth even less. Guess who is going to have to pay it all back? the tax payers.

I don't think he wants MORE bailouts for banks but wants more oversight and control over the TARP funds that are still left.

It says he wants homeowners and small businesses to get help from the money the banks get and I'm all for that. We have no clue what they did with the first half of the TARP but we know it wasn't used in the way it was supposedly intended to be and nobody could or would account for a penny of it.

THe first round of bank bail out money was horded by the banks or used to buy other companies and banks. That was not what it was given for. Yes it should have had better oversite. And because the banks did not do what htey were suppost to do with the first round of money I do not think we should be giving them more. WHich he does want to do.

A bail out won't work. If Obama will do what he said he would and use the money to create jobs that will help. Giving more money to bad businesses is dirt stupid. The American people have already see this just doesn't work and he will never convince them to go for it.

He wants more bail outs for the banks. I know he wants to do more than just that for the ecomony. But I really do not think the banks need more money
