I had few guests coming to my home for the past 10 days during the holidays. So our life schedule was completely changed and we missed our routine entertainment, though we had great fun with guests. Do you continue to watch your favourite TV programs when you have guest at home too?

Oh, no! I wouldn't insult them that way! Unless they wanted to watch something, the TV would stay off because I much prefer their company to the idiot box.

Wolfie nods guiltily yes he does still watch his favourite programme if it coincides when guests coming round, although it's not very often that guests do come and there is only programme on television that I just can't miss and that is my favourite soap, I cannot record it as I don't have a VCR, and I watch every single episode religiously, even when I go on holiday I have to watch it, how sad is that? But it's only one programme and providing they don't come between 7pm and 8pm Monday to Friday they'll have my full attention!

I never have guests staying at my house but only visitors so there is no problem in watching my favourite tv progs. However next week my brother and his family who are settled abroad will be coming to stay at my place. However they will not have much time nor the inclination to watch tv as they are here for a short time. So there wi not be any problem for me to watch my fav tv progs.

It depends on guests who visit us. I mean if they stay with us for a while we all watch the TV shows together (if it is worth watching) If the visitors just give us a flying visit, we switch off the TV and have some gossip and fun. I don't have any program that I watch regularly. For news and events, I use the internet. So even if I don't watch TV for continuous days, I don't feel anything missed. Because of this, sometimes I'd get myself engaged with the guests when other members of my family are watching TV.

I always miss out on programs when my family comes to visit, especially in the summer time when we go away for a couple of weeks or my family is here, I seem to miss my favorite shows like Big Brother and all the new reality shows in summer time. You seem to feel kind of bad when your family is here and everyone is sitting around the fire roasting marshemellows and you tell them that you want to go in and watch your show.

I rarely turn the TV on when I have guests. It's distracting and we usually have so much to catch up on we don't need distractions. If they're going to be there for a few days, I tell them, there's the remote, I don't have cable but if there's anything you want to watch feel free, but there's nothing so pressing that I just have to watch it unless it's a special program that I want to share with them.
