Which on do you prefer? Why? Does it really affects the relationship? How? Honestly I have no idea in answering these questions. Most of my friends prefer short term engagement. They say that it decreases there seperation anxiety from there fiance. It simply makes them feel more secure in the relation ship they are involved in.

When I had a long engagement it hurt the relationship because I started to feel like he didn't really want to marry me cause he kept coming up with reasons why we couldn't get married on a certain date that I suggested.

Me and my partner have been together for 5 years and been engaged for 2 of them. We are not going to be getting married for 2 more years yet. I believe there is no point rushing into things.

My husband and I dated for 2 years before we got married. Then when we got married we eloped to Vegas. It was crazy and I will never forget calling my dad and telling him. I was so nervous and I was an adult well over 18 lol. I just didnt want my dad feeling he had to pay for it. LOL.
