I just saw this article on BBC saying that people who drink too much coffee could start seeing ghost or hearing strange voices. I myself drink lots of coffee and never saw anything strange.
Does anyone know of people who had these visions caused by coffee? Or maybe it happened to you? After all do you believe in this?

I do not really coffee as I have never really had a taste for it. But I would assume that coffee might affect people in this way because it contains caffeine. Caffeine is a stimulant and therefore has a number of 'stimulating' effects on the body's nervous system. That's why many people drink coffee to keep them alert. An excess of caffeine might make you 'overly' alert and maybe see or hear things that are not there. I could be wrong but that would be my guess

Caffeine is also found in tea, some soft drinks, energy drinks and some kind of pills also said to give energy. Some people say that they will not sleep if they drink coffee before going to bed. It doesn't seem to affect me as I sleep a lot and dont have a problem with that.

I used to have coffee twice a day until 2005. Slowly the want for the coffee reduced, and I completely stopped it. My office work also contributed to certain extent in this.
I never had seen any ghost but sometimes, particularly at nights, heard strange sounds. (like people talking non-stop) I don't think that is because of coffee, because other people who used that particular room of my house have also felt the same. There's something with that room's location.
My father was very fond of coffee and he never said any such experiences.

i believe in these things and that doesnt mean that its because people are hallucinating. There are a lot of places like that where someone feels the presence of a ghost

An excess of caffeine has different effects on different people. I've never heard of it being a hallucinagin, but I suppose it could effect some people that way. I did know that too much cinnamon could cause hallucinations.
