I was wondering if you were traveling and there was someone hitching for a ride would you pick them up or would you call the police to let them know? I truthfully wouldn't do it cause I've heard so many scary things about what can happen if you do. After watching that movie the hitcher I for sure never will pick up a hitcher you never know what can happen.

With all the horrible things that I hear about this topic, I would never pick someone up. You never know what that person is like, if they have a weapon or if there really only want a ride. I know that it is horrible to have to judge so many people on the situation of a few, but in this case I would have to say better safe than sorry. I would call the police, maybe thay would be nice enough to give the person a lift and a slight "smack on the wrist". Besides the fact that the person may be dangerous, hitch hiking itself is dangerous. You could cause an accident, or even be picked up by some crazy person too, I guess it goes both ways. So no I would not pick up a hitch hiker if I came across one.

no i wouldn't because you never know what they can do to you. i have a daughter to think about who is usually in the car and even if she's not and something happens to me then where does that leave her. it's not worth taking the risk

I remember when growing up my mother would always pick up hitchhikers. WE would take them from one town to the next and they would be on their way. Nowadays there is no way I would ever pick up a hitchhiker. I also wouldn't dare hitchhike. You never know what kind of sicko is out there and what could happen. I wouldn't call the police either. I would just drive on by feeling sorry for that person.

No I wouldn't pick anyone up. It's too dangerous to pick up someone these days. You never know if they are trying to get away from something, or just looking to assault and rob. If someone was in trouble, as opposed to a hitchhiker, I'd probably call the cops.
