This number just kept popping up on my phone's caller I D. I don't usually answer these calls but being bored and jobless with nothing to do I decided to answer this one. I had been searching the web and looking for online jobs and I had put my info in on this site WFH. That is where this call was coming from. When I answered the caller asked was I looking for a WFH Job. I replied, "yes I am looking for a job and if you are looking or asking for money I don't have it and I have no way of getting it". The caller replied "thank you ,ma'am, you have a good day. Have you ever gotten rid of a telemarketer that easy before? If so what was your reply to their call?

I have asked a telemarketer to give me there home number and that I would call her later and give her my decision. The funny thing is she had to think about it. Then she says um no and you have a good day. I was laughing so hard that had she not hung up I am sure her supervisor would have gotten on the phone.

There used to be one that called my mother all of the time, and they were looking for donations for the policemen's fund.. I had read the fine print and only a few cents out of the 10.00 that she sent them went to the policemen's fund, the rest went to them.. She was almost 90 yrs old at the time, just about a month before she passed away.. They called on a regular basis, until I blasted them, I told them she was dying, she had no more money for them and if they needed money that badly to get a d*mned job and quit bumming off of the poor and the elderly.. They never called again.. If more of this money had gone to the policemen's fund or if it was a legitimate cause, I would have sent them the money but the majority of this money sent to them went to the telemarketers..

Hi Chevee, hahahha..that was indeed easy! I might be using that strategy of yours if ever I will happen to answer any calls from them again! LOL! In the past, when the lady asked me if I have a credit card, I told her right there and then that I have no job, no credit card and I am not interested! LOL!

Funny...I got exactly the same response when I told a telemarketer about an hour ago that I can not and will not spend so much as a nickel.

Hi Chevee, Thank goodness we don't callers like that, we used to get double glazing people always trying to sell us their products but we always say we are a shop and they don't want to know then so we have put a stop to all that. Hugs. Tamara

Hey, Um I kind of just tell them that I already have a phone or whatever they are trying to make me buy. And if they try and still talk to me I just politely tell them good bye and just hang up. Simple but effective, happy MyLotting!

I have telemarketers call and tell me that I have a opportunity to buy some magazines and it won't cost me a dime. I mention to them when they first start talking how much is this call going to cost me. Oh, nothing there is no cost at all. I let them talk a small amount of time and then I interrupt them and tell them to get to the bottom line and when it all comes out it isn't free. That was in my younger days that I let them talk a little. Now when I get a call from a telemarketer I do the same thing as you. I don't have any money so you are wasting my time. And they hang up. They don't say thank you at all.

I registered all of my phones with donotcall.org so telemarketers don't call us anymore. When we do get calls from unknown callers or 800 numbers it's usually a bill collector looking for my husband's son so I'm more than happy to give them his cell phone number and to ask them not to call us anymore. There have been a couple of times when I've pretended to be the babysitter and offered to take a message since my husband's son is a "jr" but I don't do that too often.

My experience with solicitors is that they don't understand the term, "I don't have any money for that," so I just don't answer the phone if I don't recognize the number. If it's important, they can leave a message.

No, I haven't ever gotten rid if a telemarketer that easy. The easiest way I've gotten rid of them was to hang up on them. I'll have to use your approach next time and see if it works for me. (if you don't mind me stealing it from you)

I do deal with things like that. The other day someone calls claiming i won something and i would have to have a visa card. So me being cautious i lie. I say i dont have a visa card. So then they want to know if i can purchase the prepaid kind and use it. One lie leads to a next and i really want to hang up on these people half the time but i try to be patient and remember its their job.

Well I did, most people in our country are afraid of police officers sooo.. whenever I receive calls from my mobile phone from some telemarketers I just blurt out "hold on a sec I'll just have to throw this scumbag in his cell, here you go be nice to your inmates" after that they surprisingly just hangup and never heard from them ever since.
