I respect Gandhiji for his strength of Ahimsa and non-cooperation. However, I cannot think of him as the Father of the Nation. It is not that India as a country was born only because of his efforts. Indians and Hindus are mainly pacifists and Gandhiji took advantage of that to make his non-cooperation movement a success. He however failed to steer the nation to safety…India was not only a country, it was a civilization in itself that survived for centuries. However, this great land had to be carved out to serve the interests of few petty leaders…Gandhiji failed to prevent that. Hence to me, he is a failed leader on a major front.

Independence is not a single man effort .It is because of the entire indians effort they did their job in their respective areas. Vinoba bhave,Nethaji--subhash chandra bose , bhagath singh, chandra sekhar ajadh like this somany people sacrifised their lifes .Gandhiji also did his best because he became of father of india.because of his speaches entire indians became his followers and participated in quit india and somany other movements. That was a success.Don't categorise freedom fighters ,they are like gods for indians.Love india love indians respect everyone who made india free.
