I guess most of you might be using either a broadband connection or some other landline services to surf the internet. but i am using my mobile phone to surf the net. whenever i want to surf the net, i just conncect the mobile phone to my PC and thats it. Is there anyone who use GPRS connection to surf the net like me. and what is the maximum speed you get?? In my system it is showing 115.2 kpps.Does the maximum speed depend on the type of handset and service provider??

I am your true friend i also have airtel gprs .I got the speed what i want whether it is 150,260or the 920 ones. I ask you once question whether you are using free or chargable gprs as i m using it free for more than four months .Its too good to be on mobile. I have wi fi in my hostel where i currently studied but i always use gprs at market and mall. For your handsets question i prefer only nokia handsets .i tried manyone but experience with nokia is too good.

Regarding the speed, how you r able to get the speed you want.I m using Motorola handset Rokr E6. If you have any suggestion abt the speeed then i would be very glad to hear from you. anyway like you said, its too good to be on mobile and m enjoying the GPRS.. And thanks for the information.

I use GPRS connection to surf the net and just got maximum 20kbps (it was so slow). When i move to 3G or HSDPA, it much better. I use modem connection or handphone as a modem, the speed just the same so maybe someday GPRS won't be used anymore.

I use GPRS connection whenever I go home to my province where internet connection is not available. Yes, I do get almost the same speed with you mostly from 100kbps to 120kbps. I understand the phone I am using and the network can offer up to 200 plus with the availability of 3G and now the HSPDA technology now used by major telecom giants. Sad to say here in our place, though my phone is capable of giving up to 200kbps plus internet speed, it remains at GPRS connection because 3G signal is not available here in our place. But still it gives me the opportunity to connect to internet using my phone. It just limits me not to stay long on the net because the price per hour is still high.Bottomline, yes your phone should be capable of 3G and even up to 3.5G to have a higher speed and should be paired with a telecom network that has 3G and even up to 3.5G signal. Having a 3G phone is meaningless if your network doesn't offer 3G. Hope this helps.
