I just found out I even had one! I love oysters but since theres no places around where we live to have them I usually have them very sparingly. But I have been traveling to Baltimore the past couple days (I think im falling in love with it) and on both days I had a bunch of oysters. The first day when I was coming home I didn't think anything of it because it was just my neck itching and I knew it was a rash but still thought nothing about it. By the second night about a couple hours after our dinner I started breaking out in hives. I got welts on both my shoulders, all along the side of my body, neck, arms chest and it kind of scared me because I never broke out that much from anything. Now the third day I STILL have the welts and its spread to my FACE!! I went to the gym this afternoon and when I came home I had another scare because I didn't notice it had spread onto my face until I saw welts on both sides of my face and embarassed because people must of been wondering whats up. Im going back to the gym in the next hour, any remedies to diminish these awful red welts anybody?
Tell me how your body reacts to seafood, I have only had this reaction to oysters and I thought it strange because Mussels I also love and their body considered Mollusk but I have not had any reaction to them. I love seafood and that is primarily the meat that I eat but now I think Im gonna get tested to be sure.

I usually get an itchy feeling in my throat when I eat fish. Not seafood, just fish. It's wierd becasue I can eat tuna fish, but notfish. I get the same reaction when I have walnuts and pecans. But I can eat cashews and peanuts with no problem. I had a reaction once to this brazilian nut my father brought home a long time ago. He told me to try it and I said no thanks. I pretty much looked at it and decided I wouldn't like it, knowing my reactions from walnuts and pecans. He says how do you know if you don't try it, so I did and my throat started itching and it swelled up afterwards. I had a hard time swallowing. He made me gargle a cup of hot water with salt and it went away. Then I told him next time I say no leave me the3 hell alone LOL. That's the reaction I get from fish, walnuts and pecans. If I eat just a little bit it's not too bad. But if I have a lot of it

You know how parents are. "How do you know if you don't try it". Or my personal favorite that my mom used to tell me when I would tell them that fish makes my throat itch "It's all in your head". In other words she thinks I was making it up because I just didn't wanna eat fish. My d@mn throat is itching and it feels like a rash in my whole mouth and my lips. What part if I can't eat this crap don't you people understand! LOL. Everyone reacts different to ceratin foods. It must have been terrifying to know that you went to the gym and didn't notice the marks until after you got home.
