hi all!
the word confidant is now gradually being used for someone whom other people trust and share their secrets and opinions to. this is good because this means that they find you approachable and trustworthy.
however, have you experienced when, as a neutral person, both sides of arguing people talk to you (of course, in separate situations) and share their secrets and opinions regarding their arguments?
to make the question clearer, i have this experience at work. whenever arguments arise in the office between departments, most of the time, one side would talk to me and share their opinions and other confidential issues regarding the argument. then the other side would also share to me their point of view.
i am not in the grievances department nor in the human resources department. i am a part of operations department. and i find it elating that people from other departments would trust me as a reliable office friend. however, i find it very awkward that i have to be the confidant for BOTH sides.
how about you? have you experienced this awkward scenario as well?
thanks and happy mylotting!
