Why is it that every bad thing that happens we always blame GOD?

I just read a discussion where this person was having a streak of bad luck,he was wondering why GOD favored some & forgot others? I do not understand these people.Everyday bad things happen to people and the first thing out of their mouth is "WHY DID GOD LET THIS HAPPEN?????????Don't people understand that there is more than just one spirit in this world? There is also a big bad DEVIL out there that is out to destroy everyone he can..The only protection we have is our faith in God and we must ask GOD to help us.....I am so happy that i am not GOD, because i would have already bumped off a lot of people, for being stupid........God has no control over you unless you let him into your life,he is not a rude GOD,he respects our rights & has given us free choice....He s not the cause of all the bad in the world,People do these things, people kill, people war, this was not something GOD wanted for us,we "HUMAN BEINGS" we cause this by the way we are...God created us but he also made a way of excape and we must ask God for help, and make him a part of our life..When things go right for others we forget GOD,we forget to Thank him, when things go right...We go about our day making all our decisions, never asking GOD for help,we make all kinds of mistakes,we lie,we gossip ,we make choices, and when it does not work out ...OMG its all they can do is blame GOD....Do anyone understand WHY this is????????????

Your such a smart lady. Everything you said is so true. We as people like to place blame, we as people don't like to take responsibilty for what we do. Its so much easier to blame someone else. My life is an example of what trying to life right, having faith, being good, being kind. All people have to do is take that first step, open up and talk to God, he will listen. I have been through alo the last few years, but with faith and Gods Grace I am doing fine. Its not to say that everything is always hunky dory, but things are ok and getting better. I thank God all the time. I talk to him all the time. God wants us to be happy, he wants us to turn to him. We do have a choice, you know what my choice is.

I don't have a clue why people do this, my husband is #1 for this. I have stopped trying to tell him the stuff you wrote here it's just no use. I do pray everyday and give thanks for the safety and well being of my family, for the food and shelter we have and also for my myLot friends. I always think when you think things are tough no doubt they are but just look over your shoulder and you'll see someone in worse shape. Like the day my husband asked me to go out for supper with him. We were sitting there and I reached down and was rubbing my leg a bit when he asked what was wrong. I told him my leg was really sore and it had been all day. Bet it wasn't 15 minutes later when I saw a fellow in a wheelchair with literally no legs at all. I just looked at my husband and said, I guess it just quit hurting. Isn't it the truth though.

Hello to two of my favorite Mylot lady friends. I do the same thing, when I get to feeling down or sorry for myself, I think of someone who has it so much worse then me. There will always be someone who has it worse, no matter how bd it gets. Take care both of you and May God Bless You Always.

They are not accepting their responsiblity of their actions. Sure not everything is the fault of the person, but the way they react to it is. And blaming it on God is one of those actions. Instead of bearing it as a test of faith, they pass the buck.

Why is that people when something good happens say its because due to their hard work and effort. But when they fail in achieving something they say its because god were not in their favor and blame god.

Hi slickcut According to me a true lover would not blame anyone even god. If u truely love god you are not going to blame god.Only person who kept relation to get something blame ,when they are unable to receive things. Even i used to blame god, but i started thiking over it, is it good to blame god for everything. Most of the time what happen wht u did in past, you to receive echo of that work. So, before blaming god or others , think y this happened to me, you will get answer if ur heart is clean.

I have to agree with you..The things that go bad in our life are a result of things we have done,it does not always come back to you the way you sent it out..Thank you for your response.

At the time of distress and failures everybody wants to put the responsibility on someone else shoulders and who could be better than GOD because He is not there to defend himself and we feel little bit relieved after blaming and cursing Him for all the wrong happenings.Actually He acts like a cushion bag for us to whom we can punch hard and do not get hurt.

There are times I think about what you said about why does others get more favors and some dont. I myself sometimes ask this questions...but I never blamed God. I do my own mistake in life and not God. What we should do is learn from our mistakes so as not to repeat it again. I guess some people just are losing their faith not only in God but in what they can do for themselves. Since the outbreak of the economy lots of people lost their jobs..less money ..less pay..The people should never give up and have more faith.

you are right about that..Things just happen in life....Sadness and disappointment is just part of being human and our mistakes are just part of our stepping stones to learn a lesson...Had i never been sad in my life,i would not know what happiness is....If we looked deep into this economy thing & actually got down to the root of it,it would probably be because a lot of mistakes were made without ever consulting God rather it was the right way to go...When i applied for this new apartment i am in,I said well i applied for it ,now God it is in your hands rather i get it or not..I really want this apartment BUT if its not for me,then i won't get it....and something you have for me must be better..Well as it turned out i got the apartment...Well it goes by your income, when i got the apartment the mananger told me,"I am shocked you were approved at such a low rate ,actually that you were even approved at all...not because i was a bad person but because of my income,so when i got it,then i knew it was meant to be,and i have been so happy........When you keep that faith & leave it in God hands it always works out...God does not always give us what we want, because we do not see the big picture of it all.....

Hi slickcut, That is really a very common statement and maybe people just need to think outside the box. Like for example having a huge flood that kills innocent people and destroy a lot of properties. People fail to realized that they are cutting huge trees that will protect them, they are selling it and when there are consequences, they forgot it is because of their actions!

you are so right..man messes things up real good & when they do they just cannot see what they have done,so when bad things follow their actions, they blame God....

I'm not saying anyone, but generally speaking, I think there are people that blame God for anything and everything wrong in their lives. You are right about this; I certainly feel that we should work hard especially and not always blame God for everything. For instance, a worker is lazy at work. And doesn't get the promotion. But the colleague does. And he blames God for bad luck. I think that's not fair, really, where the worker is lazy at his work. If only he could have been more productive, he would raise chances of getting a promotion. Besides this, I do believe in luck and destiny too. Like everything happens for a reason kind of thing.

because i think they bleive god made it or let it happen to them, i know when i struck with a boat load of bad luck in one year. my mom and aunt killed in a car accident in the beginning of 96, and then in aug of 96 i felled and hurt my back, had a spinal cord injury. lost my job and couldn't afford my bills. i went from making almost 15 bucks an hour to 7 bucks. almost lost my house numbers of time. but then with help from a good friend, pastor he shown me god isn't always the fault, nor behind what happen to us. maybe things happen for a reason so we often have to look and search for that reason. with my i found out i suffer from bipolar and post manic depression. the leason i learn was i am bless more then one way. i have great family and friends. my leason is to teach others, when my nephew was stuck down with depression him and his ex g/f came to me. i helped him through it and guided him to get help. now he told me if it wasn't for me he might not be here today. so they need to search for the leason in bad things,

That is a wonderful testiment....Everything that happens is something to be learned..You will come out of this and when you do ,you will be a lot more wiser that ever...I have had some bad things happen to me too, some of it was my mistakes & some was just meant to help me learn & grow....In your situation you were able to save your nephew, that is an awesome thing ...

Sometimes blaming others can make us feel good. Maybe God is the ultimate receiver because he is silent. We love to blame and lash out to those who wont retaliate. Or maybe because we know that no matter how much we hurt and blame the Lord. He will never leave us. We are such a spoiled brat...aren't we?

hmm... i kinda agree with you. people always blame God on everything, instead of thanked for everything they had. even bad things sometimes is what we really needed. sometimes we need to get a "slap on the face" to realize and understand things. if something bad happened, maybe god is trying to tell us what we should do and don't.

It is a natural human act to blame someone other then themselves. we all do it including yourself i am sure. So why not blame god.. he is not around to defend himself and he has big shoulders.

This is just because of the fact that we put in God quite a lot of trust and faith...in whom we rely for a lot of good things to happen...a friend to provide us soothing comfort....a guide to make us tread carefully through the path of life...a philosopher to advise us in times of need and so on.

Maybe that person can feel better when someone else is blamed for her/his misery. But it shouldn't be that way -_-
