players do believe that advance technology of rackets had contibuted to more speed and power to badminton and had dramatically changes the playing styles...you would not be able o use wooden racket to play a speed and power game anymore...the trend had move towards a more considerable lighter racket to achieved the speed required in badminton and using of hi modulus carbon fiber materials could do this...no matter how light the racket is, the manufacturer still needs to maintains certains weights on the frame to produce the power , very much needed in badminton... thus...most of the weights has been removed from the handle and shaft.with this new contruction, players now had the advantages of lighter racket with about the same swing weights of heavier racket...i am a badminton player in my area so i always playing badminton regularly...i have put a lot of commitment on badminton so it is not weird that i have alot of badminton racket...yonex,apacs,wilson,prospeed and alot that i cant mention right now...but for a suggestion for you that want to join badminton, yonex brand is a good racket for beginner...although yonex brad is quite expensive much more that other brand but when you using it,it gives you a satisfied feeling that you are unbeatable...that is my opinion...thank you...

Hi, weasley I have Yonex too. I play badminton about once or twice a week with my husband and in-laws. I do not join competitions though. I play ok but really have some problem with my footworks. Have a nice day!
