Dealing with Chavs.

hi, i'm from England. The towns and cities round me are full of "chavs" on the buses, trains streets and shops. just today i got a load of verbal abuse for glancing my eyes upon a group of chavs, although they weren't extreme chavs. what happened to respect these days? i have to really bite my tongue not to say something to them, as you would probably end up in a gutter with a significant amount of blood missing if you actually said anything back. i'm not a big coward, im just sensible and streetwise and just wanted to come here to share my daily experience. has anyone ever confronted chavs by themselves, if so how and what are your tactics.
