I never really have any special wishes or dreams regarding my wedding. I had particular ideas of what/how I wanted my life within a relationship to be, but the wedding part of it just seemed sometime more for the others than for the "happy" couple to me.I didn't dream of a wedding dress, a big reception, or any special location.
ANd in fact I followed my ideas to the "t". I ended up getting married by proxy - long story -, and had no reception or even a small party. I don't think it made any difference to what my life was/is. We did celebrate - kind of - with some special friends and family - when I came here, but nothing special or anything that would give a hint that it had to do with a wedding.
I have not changed my mind in the years that I have been married, and I never missed not having a special ceremony.
My daughter on the other hand is quite conservative in these matters and has an extremelly strong idea of how she wants that special day to be :)

How wonderful to be married twice to the same person. I think it is very lucky indeed to have such a life. I only got to marry my wife once, in church. Cheers!!

Well, my first was in a church with the gown and the whole 9 yards. The second was in a summer dress, in a small church with only a few in attendance, and the third (yes, third lol) It took place at a friends house with a JP. But, I am just recently engaged, and planning a wedding for September. It's going to be somewhere in between, lol. I'm not going for the fancy wedding dress, but one that is tea length, fancy flip flops hehe, and the ceremony will be held in a garden, with family attending. The reception, will be held at a pavilion at a park where a creek runs through it. It will have the theme of firefighting, since he is a firefighter and I am a wildland firefighter. Our helmets, mine yellow his black will be placed on the table with the guest book. I'm hoping to have an Engine take us from the garden to the park. And the cake with have a firefighter cake topper, she's in a wedding gown trimmed in yellow, with a yellow helmet, he is in black with a black helmet on. Hopefully my wedding planner (aka my daughter) will come up with some great, not too expensive ideas for decorations. This will be the last wedding for me, the last marriage, and it's important that it is done with style, my parents are older now, and I do want my dad to give me away, and the father/daughter dance we never had.

hi vanitis ...
i never dreamed my marriage will be what it was ... but it was a sudden thing and almost perfect ..
after 16 years of love life .. we planned a sudden wedding 2 years back, and nly 2 months to spare .. we printed our cards mid december, announced to our family after the card was ready ... (christmas of 2006 ... my husband got his share of scolding and shouting from his family for this and he was 44 years old then)
1) got married at his home town (temple) on 28 jan at 5.30 am
2) dinner at his home town on 28 jan at 7pm
3) dinner at my home town on 29 jan at 7pm
4) dinner at grand ballroom of a five star hotel on 31 jan
believe me ... it was exhausting .. let me remind you my wedding was at 5.30AM .. i started putting on my dress and all from 3am .. i never slept
No i never dream this wedding ... we made it after 16 years ... and with a classy memorable wedding
thank you .. for letting me share this .. the story of my love life, i can actually write a book of it ..
cheers
(p/s- my 2nd anniversary is coming..)

I always thought I'd get married in a church wedding. But it didn't happen that way. My husband was in the service and we got married in a Judge's office at the Court House. There was hardly any expense. He wore his nice dress uniform and I wore a blue shantung dress that looked like a suit. He bought me a corsage and paid for the license. We got married with only his secretary as a witness. I would have it no other way. So many marriages where they spend tons of money do not last. Ours has lasted for almost 45 years.

To get married, any place will do. What is important is the bond of marriage and the great commitment associated with it, but the place to get married is not at all important. Instead of that, one could just enter into a live-in relationship, that would be far better. I do not see much sense in wastin gso much money on a marriage.

i guess every girl have some dream wedding of their own..
