How do you promote your blog/website?

Hello people, after some research I found a few site like the following Entrecard, blogcatalog, mybloglog, spottt that are recommended. However, I am not too sure are there other site around you use to promote your blog that does not affect your SEO?
Perhaps you would like to list the sites you use. (no referral links please)
Perhaps you would like to share what is your blog and what is it about. and maybe we could actaully link it if we have similar topics.

just ost quality content and then promote among your friends (offline or online) but the most important part of promoting website, especially blog is blogwalking!
that's right, read others blog, leave some comment on their website/ blog and then they will come to yours! that's it!
no need to sign up for some traffic exchanger or something like that!

I use a website to promote my work and interests. I developed it from Office Live because it's easy to use. There are several links & banners that I just paste into my html.
Currently, I'm working on blogs & articles that deal with writing, books, reviews and ways to earn some extra pocket change. Feel free to check it out if your interested.

Microsoft Office Live is a place to create your website with your own free domain name. You try it out for one full year and if you like the way it's going, it's only $14.95 annually. That's dirt cheap for all the hosting and promotional tools that is included. You may find their services beneficial, especially if you need more free space to promote your purpose.

It's been quite a while since I had my first blog and I must say all the frantic efforts to promote it has been quite an experience. Looking back, nothing much really changed because of promotion. Cheers!!
