Do you volunteer?

I am not able to work at all, but I knew the people that used to run the restaurant and I went there a few times. I sat and peeled potatoes many times for them. They were so short staffed and I felt good knowing I was helping. They were good to me. I got meals at a discount and when they had too much food they always gave it to me and you'd be surprised at how much that helped.

I do a lot of volunteer work where I live - I have coached soccer, directed children's plays, worked with community clean up, PTA, and just about anywhere else I am needed. I love it!

I tried to volunteer once on campaign in election here in our country. It was hard since there are no money involved but you have to give your hundred percent in order to make a difference or to change lives. I also have a volunteer worked way back in highschool when we cleaned our community one Saturday. It is fun and at the same time very tiring.

Throughout my life, I always wanted to volunteer but I could never seem to find the time. A year ago, I took early retirement and as part of my retirement plan, I decided to volunteer. I can only describe it as the richest, most fulfilling thing that I have ever done. You get back so much more than you give. I'm doing a couple of things. I read at our local library for a children's story hour and I work as an assistant at one of the exercise classes at the Senior Center. I love it. I love animals too but I'm not sure that I could work at the SPCA without bringing all of those dear creatures home with me. You are going to love it. Good luck on the job front as well.
