Mylot: The Education Community

I can defintaely see where your idea for this discussion comes from! MyLot is a mine of information even for those who are not writers. It gives such an insight to what happens in other parts of the world and how the people from different places react at things happening in other parts. The most amazing thing I can remember is reading of a friend here who was at his computer at the beginning of an earthquake. The rest of the world was informed later but here on myLot it was happening live to a user! Things that I take for granted where I live are seen differently by others and it is an eye-opener in many ways. Yes myLot is a slice of life and that's what makes it such fun!

That's true. It really is a learning experience to be joining myLot. I learned a lot here. From guides and how-tos. The best thing is, the guides or how-tos came from real people's experiences which makes it more credible and doable. The was a discussion here which gives tips on how to prevent earaches when boarding a plane. Now i know how because before i thought there's no remedy for it but to wait for the plane to land. At least i'm ready now.

It's ironic that I should come across this discussion because that's EXACTLY why I signed on to the site a few moments ago. I have an article due about Christmas, and another due about Anniversaries today and I came on here to surf for ideas. I do this also when I have to write about art projects, and parenting. This place is a wealth of personal experiences, which is what adds that sometimes much needed flair to pieces of writing.
