I am unemployed and am collecting unemployment benefits. I am thankful for the benefits, but it is not enough to get me through the month. My husband does sales, he just recently got the job and works on commssion only. This morning he went to his weekly meeting, and after the meeting, there was no paycheck for him. My next unemployment check won't be until next Friday. I am so stressed. We have no money at the time, and he needs gas in order to go to his appointments, not to mention food. I won't even think about bills, because I do not have the money for them. If there were such things as pennies from heaven, now is the time I would like to see them. Have you ever been in such a situation?

i've not been as bad off, but with the drought out here it's making life hard. i've got a steady job to my knowledge, been here for 4.5 yrs and my partner is on government payments due to the drought. we were going to change things back september last yr, with his dad and we go share farming. but when it got looked at it was not the best thing cause we'd lose the benifits from centrelink. so we just keep plugging away. i would suggest only try and have the bills you need. phone each company up and talk to them, tell them what is going on (eg phone company, electricity, etc.) and arrange to have small payments made on your bills. go to the council office and find out about what things are avaible to people in your situation. keep beliving things will get better, don't lose hope

sadly yes i've been in that situation, i ate free top ramen for about a month.. start looking at what you can sell, either via craigslist or ebay. look into food banks in your area. everyone is hard right now, but there are still ways to make it happen.
