FISA Court Ruling: Prs. Bush was Right.

The FISA court made public a ruling they made last August concerning the legality of Prs. Bush's policy on wire tapping telephone calls between known terrorists overseas and people in the US.
The court ruled that Prs. Bush was completely within his authority to order the wire taps, even without their prior approval.
The irony here is that it won't change most people's minds about whether or not the policy is legal... but it will open the way for Prs. Obama to be able to use the same tactics now that he is going to be running the War on Terror.
Of course, we won't hear a peep from Sen. Feingold or anyone else who levelled false accusations against Prs. Bush, and my guess is, the people who screamed the loudest will be among the biggest supporters when Prs. Obama does the exact same thing.
Does anyone else think it's interesting that the incompetent press isn't covering this? You can bet your tickets to Obama's Inaugeral that the incompetent press would be all over this if the ruling went the other way.

You are right except that it is not so much that the media and press are incompetent as it is that they are biased toward liberals and the Democrats. There are too many to count cases of were they have ignored or looked the other way when Democrats do something and yet made a huge uproar if Republicans do the same thing.

If that doesn't define incompetence in journalism, nothing does.

True Annie, which is one of the reasons that we still get along pretty well, even with our differences.

The passage of time tends to blur people's perception of a person-especially a president. History will, I think, judge Bush much differently than the current poll numbers would indicate. His handling of the war on terror will only be judged by its outcome. The means and methods used will be forgotten.

I don't wish any harm to come to anyone, but I hope the Democrats have to face most of the same problems Pres. Bush has had to deal with. I have had it with people lambasting him. No he didn't do everything exactly right, buy what President does? I wonder what would happen today with The Bay of Pigs incident. Kennedy had to be prepared to do whatever it took to send the Cubins packing, even to the point of nuclear weapons. Would these same people be calling him a warmonger, their "Greatest Leader", that O'Bama supposedly emmulates. I am proud of President Bush, he has kept me and my family safe for 8 years and I for one am very grateful to him. How would some of you here on the Lot like to go completely grey in a years time, because of the stress you are under, running a country where the people are so spoiled that you can never please them. The presidency is not a job for cowards, or weaklings. There are few in this country of ours who can take on this job, and retain their sanity. I know I wouldn't want the job. I say give Pres. Bush his due. You may not like him, but ou can thank him tha yyou are no riding camels, and eating dust. JMHO, Marilyn
