Have you seen a,"two-in-one idol ",of two Hindu Gods,Hanuman & Ganesh?

Two-in-one idol of Gods Anjeneyar and Vinayagar(Ha - This is a rare idol to be seen anywhere else.
There are two group of people, one following Lord Shiva and the other following Lord Vishnu. These groups used to clash each other,so says the old history.
These two gods, one son of God,Shiva and the other devotee of Vishnu, seen here in single statue.
This photo was taken on first of January 2009 at a Hindu temple in USA.

In Hindu temples you might have seen The God Shiva & Goddess Parvathi in a single statue. For the first time I saw this two-in-one idol of Gods, Anjeneyar and Vinayagar(Hanuman & Ganesh ). This Idol I saw in a Hindu temple,at Peoria,IL,United States. I am happy to post this photo here, which is a rare statue to be seen anywhere else. Have anyone seen such a statue. Please share your views in this forum. Happy Mylotting.

As long as it brings about some sort of unity among both sects, and as long as it does not harness some sort of superstition, I think it's quite all right with me. The world could always use a little more peace.

Hi soham My very purpose of posting that photo is to show, how two Gods representing two groups of faith, is united in one idol. All people are humans, borne to live peacefully, despite their faith in different ideologies. Let peace prevail in the world. Happy mylotting

I am very sorry to note, that some silly Hindus are making a joke of our religion in USA. Please note that I am not a fanatic, and I worship both Ganesha and Hanuman but if you want to join two sects, it will be better to have two seperate statutes instead of making our gods look like some freaks. It is high time that we start giving respect to our gods and I feel that Hindu society in USA should not do such silly and stupid tricks . Finally muru there is no difference between the two sects as you people claim, and all Hindus are happily living in India very peacefully.

Hi rameshkumar, Thank you for your response. I am very much an Indian, and only a visitor to this place. I saw this different idol so I posted that photo here. I am sure no body makes any idol here.It is only made in Tamilnadu/India. I have only refered the clashes between two sections in "history" only which you won't disagree with me.If you have seen the film Dasaavadharam, perhaps you will recollect history. As said Past is history, future is mystry and today only is gift.Let us forget the past history and let us be happy in the present time. Happy mylotting.

Hi rameshkumar, I equally share your feelings. I am also a Hindu,a strong devotee of Anjeneyar.I regularly go on saturdays to Anjeneyar temple in Coimbatore. The deity in that temple is very powerful. It is always decorated very well. You can visit the blog "avaalankarams.blogspot.com" to see the alankarams(decorations). You will just admire it. Thanks for your response. Happy mylotting
