Monster robot battles...do you remember?

On the show Big Bang Theory, the guys built thier own killer robot. Does anyone remember a show that used to be on tv that people, who built thier own killer robots, would come on to have thier robots fight other robots "to the death"? I cannot think of the name of this show for the life of me. Some of these machines were pretty intense, with saws or hammers. I used to watch it late night with my dad and just thought it ws the coolest thing how people came up with thier ideas for these robots.

I remember the show too, but can't remember the name of it. My son used to like to watch it when he was younger. I watched it several times with him. It could get pretty intense. I enjoyed seeing the creativity these robots possessed. What great ingenuity the creators had. Monday's episode of Big Bang Theory also reminded me of the show.

Ok, thanks for validating my memory. I thought I was going crazy for a second. Actually upon further research I found a site called battlebots.com and I think that's what the show was called. It says there that they are filming there next event for tv. Is that what it was called? It was a weekly tv show though if I remember correctly.
