In my opinion the economic crisis around the world is probably more likely than not going to get worse before it gets better. However it will improve one day...we can all live in hope anyway. The way i'm approaching this at the moment is to make the most of it. I have just started investing in the stock market both in terms of blue chip companies and those emerging markets in Brazil, Russia, India and China. The theory is that I put in my money into a pooled fund with other investers so my money stretches a little more across a larger range of share when compared to if i'd just gone out and purchased a wad of shares from just one company...which is far more risky. Anyway because I pay in every month i'm limiting the risk considerably...when the share price is high that much fair enough my money won't go far but when the shares dip the next I can get more for my money....AND because the shares are so low at the moment and are predicted to be for several years to come it's an ideal time to take advantage. I'm only 22 so have plenty of time to ride the stock market out but hopefully if the shares stay low for the next five years I can build up a very good portfolio of shares then when they eventually improve and the share prices rise I will be able to make a profit....well that's the plan lets just hope it works. In my opinion the financial markets will struggle for a considerable time yet. Here in England every day a financial institution seems to be in some sort of crisis which the Government attempts to sort out but in actual fact only makes it worse by feeding more money into the problem with doesn't make much difference and just squeezes the tax payers here even more. Sorry about my little rant towards the end but I think you can see my opinion here.
