I want to make extra money by writing articles or doing some sort of interactive colomn. Does anyone here have any tips or pointers for this? This posting and responding here on Mylot has made me really enjoy the beauty of writing and communicating with other fellow mylotters.

I make money from all my writing activities online. You should consider joining Helium, Triond, Associated Content or any other writing site. Some of these sites share revenue, and some offer upfront payments for articles. Helium is the most complex and competitive of the writing sites, but it works well for me. I have writing stars and rating stars, so I qualify for upfront payments for new articles, as well as daily income from page views. Best of all it has a marketplace where I can submit to publishers assignments, and I've sold a dozen articles so far. When you have done some further research, you can decide which site suits you and where you think you will earn the most. You can find further information on my profile page or at http://paid2write.getpaidfrom.us/about/

There is a lot of things you can do. You can start your own website blog, which takes some learning to do to understand getting traffic and that kind of thing, but it is also the most rewarding both financially and having the ability to control and do what you like. Once you set up a blog, you can start writing articles for other sites to introduce people to your blog or just write about something you like and then have a byline that says "to learn more about me and this topic visit myblog.com" for example. You can also write for sites like Associated Content and Squidoo. Sometimes Associated Content will pay $3-$5 for an article upfront and then pays $1.50 per thousand pageviews. Another fun way to make money while you sleep...I have articles I wrote 6 months ago that bring me money now!
