Pelosi already diagreeing with Obama

Speaker of the house Nancy Pelosi is already complaining about Obama's stance on two issues. Obama has said he does not want to repeal Bush's tax cuts before they expire in two years. He also has said he does not support an investigation to into the Bush administration. The speaker of the house wants those tax cuts repealed NOW and want a full investigation for the Bush admin NOW. It looks like a nice little arguement is brewing on this. I wonder who will win. What do you think? Who do you agree with? WHo do you think will win?

do you ever wonder why the american people were praising bush in the begining of the year when the stock market saw the largest rise in history and the economy was fine ?IN STEP'S PELOSI,HARRY REID AND THE REST OF THEIR COHORTS GAS GOES THRU THE ROOF PELOSI'S CONGRESS VOTES ON A VACATION INSTEAD OF FIXING GAS PROBLEMS AND THE BOTTOM FALLS OUT. EVERYONE PUT;S THE BLAME ON WHOEVER IS PRES AT THE TIME,FACT IS IF CONGRESS DOESN'T VOTE ON ANYTHING BUT VACATIONS NOTHING GETS DONE,THEIR A JOKE. ANY PRES CAN HAVE A GREAT IDEA BUT IF CONGRESS DOESN'T PASS IT IT'S PUT ASIDE FOR YEARS. AND IF I KEEP GOING I'M GOINNA GET BANNED BY THE POWER'S THAT BE. I WISH OBAMA WELL, HE'S GOT HIS HAND'S FULL.

Good bargaining. I think Speaker Pelosi will win on the tax cut but lose on the investigation of the Bush Admin? Biting the bullet is usually done in the early days of an administration when it still enjoys a lot of goodwill and there is still sufficient time to take care of and remedy the negative fallout. Investigating the Bush Admin? It is too close to home for comfort, meaning, it could be interpreted as an intrusion of the Legislature into the domain of the Executive. My guess is, there would be investigation, but on a superficial basis, just to save face and paper over the clamor.

I think we will see who wins before too long...and it will be telling. Whoever wins is the one really in charge of the agenda for the next few years. Obama thinks that him and Pelosi thinks its her...someone is in for shock.

I think they'll end up compromising somehow or that Pelosi will give in since she knows she has a better chance of getting more of what she wants through now than ever before since she's been Speaker. Obama has been saying since September, I believe, that he'd probably just wait for Bush's tax cuts for the rich to expire instead of repealing them so it's no big surprise. I also think it makes sense to put off a large scale investigation of the Bush Administration until some of our more pressing problems are solved or at least on their way to being solved. I guess I agree with both of them since they both want the same things, it's just that Pelosi is in more of a hurry. I'm not sure about Obama eventually launching an investigation into the Bush Administration but I think it's possible the Justice Department will in time. I hope so because I sincerely believe there have been laws broken and they shouldn't go unpunished however our time and money shouldn't be wasted on it when there is so much else that needs to be done first. I think Obama feels he has other things to do that are more important right now, plus the cost involved in the investigation. It maybe looked into one day...but I do not see it being anytime soon. You would think Pelosi would realize that her focus needs to be on the ecomony right now...she must really be mad at Bush to put it in front of our current crisis in importance.

Taskr, she was never in a position to do anything about it before. I doubt that Bush would have gone along with having his OWN Justice Department investigating him. Annie

Funny, Pelosi was never in a hurry to do anything before. Suddenly she's in a hurry to investigate Bush. Either way she's made it abundantly clear that our economy is not much of a concern to her.

One will have to given in. I don't think there will be compromises. Obama will win. Obama is thinking I don't need anything to distract me.

He is right. He has enough on his plate.

Well maybe Obama is a bit smarter than I gave him credit for. That whole "failed Bush policies" was just for votes. He'll keep Gates, he'll keep the Bush tax cuts, and he'll keep lobbyists in Washington. The anti-Bush crowd bought a bill of goods because he told them exactly what they wanted to hear.
