Do you pay your bills on time or are you always late?

Well luckily I'm still here! My internet payment is overdue again! I will be able to pay it tomorrow when I get paid! I often find that bills come in and I end up putting them off as there is something more urgent to pay and then I'm late making my payment! Do you pay your bills on time or are you like me and tend to find most of them get paid late or at the last minute?

Generally we try to pay them on or before the due date. It most instances is we do not do that, then many companies here in Australia will also charge a ate oayment or overdue account fee. If that happens it means we owe more than originally. If we cannot pay the amount in full by the due date, then within a couple of days of receiving the bill we contact the company and request an extension of time. That often saves uis those additional fees, although not always unfortunately. The other thing we do if we canot afford the full amount is to pay some off what we owe as that shows our intentions are good. Doing that means that we owe less money when we can finally pay the account and also it can means that they charge no accounting or overdue fee. However these days my partner and I are less likely not to pay the bill on time as we work to a budget and make sure that there is money in the account. We are also very conscious about accounts and how things operate as we have a small business and know how difficult it can be if someone does not pay.

Yes my partner and I have been there and done that with bills in the past and am only thankful these days the situation is better. You will find the same happens to you in the future as well .. and then wonder how you survived so well in the bad lean years.

Yes money is very tight at the moment. And sometimes it's a case of prioritising the bills. Some can wait others can't!

I'm not a let person. So, I really do my best to pay bills earlier. But the question actually is 'do you have money to pay early?' right? I usually save up for bills and when there's an emergency, well all my plans goes a-wol!! But certainly, all these years, I could say that I'm 85-90% On time or even earlier. Hope I could do the same this year.. Whew!

Yes I know that feeling. Whenever I have the money set aside something comes up and it gets spent! I always get them paid but usually it is a a few days late, which can be a real pain when your internet is switched off until the payment is made!

Lately I've been paying my bills on time, but in the past I've been late. I try my best to avoid missing a payment as the fee they charge is outrageous! The last time I accidentally missed a payment a $10 bill became an $80 bill! So now I try my best to keep better bookkeeping as I don't want to make such a mistake again.

Hi ya mummyofthree I normally pay mine as soon as they are due. I have some that just go straight on direct debit so I don't have to think about them. I have some money paid into a separate bank account and out of that only goes my DD's so it just ticks over. I have to put my paper bills in a certain place or else I would forget to pay them!! A busy mum of 3 takes it toll doesn't it? I always blame my forgetfulness on having kids!! LOL

Yup me too! I can't do DD cause I always forget them and then get charged when they bounce! I guess I'm just not very organised!

alllllllllways pay your bills on time. it avoids stress, procrastinating and any other bad feeling you may experience when you have overdue bills. I know time are rough and we all still want to have a good time. but be more frugal with your money. if you have to sacrifice a night out with the girls/guys so you can still have your internet.. then thats what you gotta do lol. I guess in the end its all your own decision and if your old enough to pay bills your old enough to make your own decisions. just based on my experience when you have bills that are not paid its like a high school or college kid who have a paper they haven't written... it haunts you.. you always think about it and your day just seems that much more stressful. I find paying my bills online help me pay them on time. the company doesn't have to wait for the check to reach them in the mail.. instead over the computer is instantaneous. so after my big speech lol i guess you could say i pay my bills on time.. of course we all have that bill we put off or don't wanna pay but we all just have to remember we have to do it. thats how it is. you pay bills. so pay them on time. all the time.

Try to put as many of your bills on autopay as possible or try to get them online so you can remind yourself, I don't know. Find a way that works for you. If what you are doing now is making things hard for you, then try something different. As for me, I live with my parents right now, so the only bill I pay is my phone and internet which I pay on time because I do it over the internet and get paranoid on what happens if I don't.

I pay all the bills immediately after received it. I am afraid of the penalty for late. I use e-banking to do the payment. So I am not worry about it. HaPpY MyLoTtInG!
