Think about a stroke that leaves you or a family member Mute...

On December 22, 2008 that is what happened to my 85 year old mother. It turns out that I am being the primary family member concerned with how she will live out the rest of her life.
She also cannot swallow ordinary liquids, has balance problems, severe chronic pain, anxiety (most would) and it currently stuck in a nursing rehabilitation center. Insurance will cover a few weeks...
For years off and on, I tried to get her plugged into the web. She did not. So the site, for instance, is not available to her.

Steve,
I'm so sorry to hear about your Mom and I am really sorry for you. This is going to be a really tough time for all of you. I'm sure there is financial help for your Mom. Start with the financial dept. at the nursing home. Medicare should take care of most of it. Just don't give up. This is the time that your computer will be your best resource.
I'm afraid that most women her age have very little interest in the computer. It's just a machine to them. I wish you all the luck. If you need to talk, I'm here and I'm sure many others are too.
