Okay, so I don't have any phobia concerning mice. I don't think there's much chance of any mouse I might see coming anywhere near me, let alone do me any harm, but there are people who have deep seeded phobias against mice, whether they believe that phobia is warranted or not. With me it's maggots. They completely freak me out, even though intellectually I know there is little chance a maggot will ever harm me. How about you? Do you have any phobias you know are unwarranted but knowing that doesn't keep you from retaining the phobia?

I have a friend who used to have a healthy phobia of mice. Until she moved to the country, near a farm. Eventually she ended up with a mouse in her house. She used a have-a-heart trap to catch it. The poor thing was so cute that she ended up keeping it for a pet and it lived the rest of it's life in princely fashion. That was the end of her phobia...lol. Maggots I can understand, since they're usually found around food. The thought that maybe some were eaten before noticing them certainly doesn't help an appetite, does it? Might help as an appetite supressant for a diet though...LOL My phobia is heights. I didn't used to be that way, and I can't figure out how it happened. Airplanes, rollercoasters...that type of thing doesn't bother me. It's being at or near a railing with a drop. Or an open window of a tall building. That's the stuff my nightmares are made of.
