I can't answer the same questions again and again. Why everyone starts discussions which is already asked thousands of times in mylot. I feel bored. Most of the repeated questions comes under the interests computers, internet, and mylot. And these are the interests which i like the most. But how can i write same responses all the time. I will be starting to report all discussions which is repeated for more than 3 times. Lets see whether it reduces this repetition. Does anyone else feel the same???

Oh how I know how you feel mtsndeep I respond to some now and then but then move on elsewhere. You are right same questions about stars, earnings, ratings, milestones, post getting deleted. Even in the money interests it's all the smae recently so I am there much less too. I find interesting things and new friends in the 'no responses' as I have said several times recently. I too am reporting all the repeat discussions just as we are asked to do in the Guidelines. Don't give up as there are LOADS of new interesting discussions out there. Just takes a while to find them!

haha You reached the 4444 twice. you should write atleast 10 responses more so that after all the deletion of discussions, you have the four 4s tomorrow.

Then don't respond. You have a choice which discussions you want to respond to so if you are seeing the same question over and over again, just don't respond to them all. Find some different discussions to respond to. I think by reporting people you are being mean because some people don't know to search and see if the topic was already posted by someone else. Also who has the time to check every time. Come on, don't be so hard on people and if someone wants to earn more money by starting their own discussion, then I say, let them. No big deal. Just search for some other discussions. After all there are millions of them here by now, to choose from. Alrighty then, talk to you later my friend, Have a good mylotting day, Chris

Actually I think that part of the reason many discussions are repeated over and over again is because as each one is posted another hundred are also started on various topics. So unless the one you start gets a fairly quick response and from several different members it gets buried deep down. Even doing a search might not bring a discussion up because people sometimes use different tags and some people might not even search by tags. Also newer members often want to get the 'runs on the board' which for many means they want to start discussions. Judging by the number of new discussions started by some members, it appears to me that they are also after the money and think that comes from starting discussions. I am not criticising anyone for being a member for what they can earn but to be honest, it is not a fortune. However for those members, it seems to me, that they think the quickest way is to start one on the first thing that comes into their mind. Yes it can be hard to answer what is basically the same discussion over and over again but I actually find that most discussions do have some variation in them. I look for that and if I find it, then I will certainly make a response which will be slightly different that previous ones.

Well, u cant stop them from starting the same discussions.. It's their freedom, and there are so many ple in the world, thinking about the same things, except that they are later than the others. lol =D Those same questions might not be to your interest, but it's to other mylotter's interest.. Always think of others, instead of thinking for oneself.. IF u dun like to respond to the same discussion, skip them.. nObody is forcing u to respond.. lol =D

does mylot delete those repeated discussions? If it does, then those who responds will lose their responses. If it doesn't delete, then no problem.

This discussion has been brought up many times, too. The answers I have read about this discussion is that some people are new on mylot and do not know the same questions have been asked before.

I have searched mylot before starting this dicussion. I searched with these keywords-- repeated discussions, same questions, duplicate discussions. I found only a few discussions and all those were atleast 5 months old. http://www.mylot.com/w/keywords/1/repeated+discussions.aspx http://www.mylot.com/w/keywords/1/duplicate+discussions.aspx http://www.mylot.com/w/keywords/1/same+questions.aspx I am complaining about those discussions started within hours, that are of same type. Yes, new users may be starting more of these kind of discussions. Our responds also get deleted when mylot finds these discussions.

What I don´t undestand is why you feel this way, they´re not asking YOU, if you don´t feel like responding to post, then don´t, just remember that there´s always newcomers and they don´t necessarily know all the post published, they just start a discussion of whatever is concerning them, nobody is obligated to make comments or answer questions.

i feel the same way and it seem question are beening repeated over and over again i know we have more interesting subjsct to discuss.what about the things that happen in the pass.what about talking about things happen in the future.what baout our child hood things we did when we was a child.what about discussing things you want to do in the future.there is so much we have not touched base on we don,t have to keep repeating the same questions.

I think one reason for this repetition is that past discussions get buried and forgotten easily. Remember that for each discussion started, only a small percentage of people among the entire population here may chance upon it and is aware that such a discussion has been posted. Before long (probably less than a day), it disappears out of sight. Also, new members join all the time, so the newer ones are less exposed to some of these topics. Since we can't avoid having similar repeated discussions thrown up, the challenge for us then is to respond in a manner that is new, refreshing and different from our past responses. The discussion topic can be the same, but the responses we provide don't have to be, and it is up to our ingenuity to write something different so the responses don't look the same.

Well, I just ignore if ever i meet similar topics that I already have answered. Well, some members are new here and they do not know that the topics they posted haven been posted many times already. As long as they did not copy it word for word from the previous topics, i consider it. Bu it I felt bored seeing the same discussion, I will not respond to it.

im sick of seeing the same thing over and over again.. i try really hard to NOT repeat anyone elses because it irks me so bad.. but some times it happens but at least i know i tried to not do it.. some people are so obvious and ALL of their discussions are the same as every one elses and they are usually the ones whining that they never make any money.. when if they made their own interesting discussion it they would make some money.. grrr.. mylot does need to do some serious clean up like every 6 months or something and like the ones with 6 of the same narrow it to 1 or 2 etc to where there will be a constant low etc..

Yes yes yes, same old topics over and over again. Also the topic about "how I hate to respond the same topics again and again" was here plenty of times. You know it is hard to start new fresh topics everyday sooner or later it just starts to repeating and I do not think by reporting you can solve this problem. I think all you can do is just select repeating once and simply ignore them. I think admins of myLot do not care that much about this site, so I doubt they will much care about your reporting anyway, but you can try.

I agree with you. The site needs to impose on better moderation to avoid repetitions. It is a waste of resources.

Well I actually feel the same somehow. I mean, don't they know how to search? or they''re just lazy? What i'm just doing is to ignore it as if I wasn't able to seem them and I'll just try to search or browse some interesting topics to reply with. Just ignore them like they didn't exist at all.. It helps.. LOL
