I recently joines Helium, and Constant Content hoping that maybe i can make some money off of one of these sites, as of yet I have not submitted anything to be published I have writers block as you will notice if you seen the discussion i started right before this one lol. I was wondering if any more expereinced users of these sites have any suggestions on how to get started earning money and tips or tricks they would be willing to offer. Such as how to get yourself noticed, what topics normally get the most sales. Where to advertise your work...also if i post a peice of work on one site am I allowed to post the same article of the other site? Any responses would be great thank you all!

Have you checked out Accentuated Writers or Squidoo to name a few, there is a ton of information on both of these sites for writing. I am a member of both, it is a long process because of the fact that there is so much information.

No I have not checked out either of those sites, but I will have to do that. I think the problem for me is at almost gets overwhelming and I got lost in it all and slowly but surly loose interest in doing something like this. Although the wierd part is I love writing and I always have I am not saying that I am any good at it lol, I am simply saying that I do it without even getting paid just because I like to write, so I have to be less intimadated take my time so it's not so overwhelming and get started! Thanks for the information.

I dont do Constant, but I have been on Helium for awhile.
The big thing on Helium at the moment is that you need to maintain rating stars in order to earn your daily revenue share from your articles.
I tend to be a diverse writer, but I also specialize in a couple of specific subjects (occult and lodge/Order related stuff mainly). I suggest submitting stuff to several channels, just because someone else claims a certain channel or topic is a good earner does not mean it is going to be one for you.
One thing I really suggest is to avoid politics; my political articles have never paid for the time I spent writing them.
And remember to leap frog your articles, so that you are not at the bottom of the pile.

Thank tou for the response it was helpful but I was wondering what leap frogging the aritcle means and how I can go about doing this. Also should these articles be from personal experince research or a bit of both?

Leapfrogging is when you rewrite an article that ended up with a poor rating, and then swap it out for the original (provided of course that the raters consider the new version an improvement). You go to "Your Articles" to do this. Hopefully, after a leapfrog, you end up with a better article and a better rating for it.
Of course, it takes time (about two weeks in my case) to know where an article (or a leapfrog) is going to settle in the ratings. The reason it is importnat is that the better rated articles have a tendency to be read more than those at the bottom of the stack.
My articles are about half research and half personal experience (and opinion).

Well personally I think it is quite normal for anyone who likes to Write and eventually maybe become a Published author, and make some Good extra $$ from their writing will happen. For me, I find myself always writing, and find the more that I do the better my thoughts become and it becomes easier to do so as well. For me, I find sometimes you just have to be willing to try something and see how it goes. Experimenting a little always helps as well.
Always learn to accept criticism as well. If you are asking for someone's opinion considering your Writing learn to accept anything people might offer and learn from it. In time it does get a lot easier, and good things can happen. Wishing you the Best.

I have not joined this sites. I do write and submit article online with xomba and hubpage. I am still new in writing and is not very good at it. That is why I just write simple articles that I have knowledge about. The sites I have joined are revenue sharing sites. Once it is viewed, I get the chance of earning. So the great thing is the articles once submitted will always be there for you working all the time. Should you be interested, you can visit my profile website and go over to the article writing page. You can choose the sites that you can start with.

There are lots of different sites where you can write and make money. Three of the top ones that come to mind are Associated Content, Helium and Triond. I have joined all three of these sites and will try to help you out with the specifics.
Associated Content is free. You join up and begin writing articles. You can write about anything you want to and can choose to either give them full ownership of your article, part or just post it for review only. When I first started writing for AC, I always put my articles for upfront payment (unless it was poetry, fiction or opinions - the things they do not pay for upfront). I thought I could make more money by giving them exclusive rights to my article, but after a time, and with help from other AC content producers I found out that was the wrong way to go.
The best thing to do is to submit an article to AC and ask for non-exclusive up front payment. You will only lose, at the most, a few cents. Believe me, I have been paid both ways and I now see that you do not lose that much money by going non-exclusive. In fact, you make more. If you have joined Helium, you can take the articles that you have written for AC and use them at Helium as well, or vice versa. By doing so, you get paid by both sites as long as the article is in a category that they pay upfront.
Helium has only recently started paying upfront for articles. They do not pay upfront for as many different areas as AC does - for example, if you write an article about the entertainment world, you will not get upfront payment from Helium. However, you will at AC.
Helium gives you many ideas to write about and helps unblock that writer's block. Write the article and try to keep your star ratings (writing and voting) up so that you do qualify for upfront payments if you write articles that fall into the categories (they have them listed on the web site so that you know). The more writing stars you have, the more money you earn for an article that is written in these categories. One star, the lowest that will pay out, gives you 50 cents an article. It goes up .50 for each star, with the most you can earn for an article being $2.50.
Once you have gotten an idea and written the article at Helium, place it over on AC as well, hitting the non-exclusive button. That way AC knows that you have the article on another site or that you plan to use it somewhere else. They will offer you an upfront payment (usually within 7 days) and if you accept the payment, then you will receive your money within 24 hours through Paypal (as long as you live in the United States).
The tricky part of writing for AC is that you cannot write about something that everyone else is writing about. If you do, then you will get offered .99 or $1.00 for upfront (or possibly nothing at all). Take the inauguration for example. This was a very hot topic that everyone was writing about so you wouldn't have gotten much money, if any, for an article. However, if you put a different spin on a popular story, using your own take or coming at the news from a different angle instead of reiterating what everyone else has written, then AC will definitely give you money upfront. They tend to like unique ideas, whether it is the entire topic or putting a different spin on a story.
It is hard to figure AC out as far as how they pay upfront payments. I have written several articles that only took me, at the most, 10 minutes to write and have gotten paid $4.00 for it. I have also researched and written articles that I thought would make good money, only to get offered $1.04. The weird thing - I seem to make more money PPV with the lesser offers than the bigger offers, go figure. It's really hit and miss.
I have started writing lots of articles about whatever I find interesting and submitting them for upfront payment. I accept whatever they give me since money is money. I have been with them for a few months and have only recently started writing more and more. I have earned around $178.00 with them, in upfront payments only and that amount was for roughly 50 some article (since my poetry and a couple of articles did not get paid upfront). I have been averaging between $3.00 and $4.00 an article - not alot but every little bit helps. That is why I put my articles on both sites now that Helium is offering upfront payments, too.
I have not really given Triond a chance, however, I plan to change that in the near future. I have been busy doing a freelancing job and since it is over now, I will be working more on my own writing.
I am sorry that I don't have any tips for you as to how to get yourself noticed. I am having problems with that as well. Still, with the hits I get from people that come over and look at AC's site, I have made decent money. Helium, not so much. As far as topic, I have found through personal experience that entertainment articles and news articles get the fastest results, however, other articles such as how tos and health articles tend to get slower, but more constant views. It is always best to mix and match. That way, you will get a bunch of hits for the current news and when the current news is up, you will find that people are still reading your articles about the other things.
It's really amazing what people will find interesting. Take for example, I have two diabetic children. I wrote a few articles about how to travel with a diabetic, how to give insulin shots properly and how to help your child adapt to going back to school after being diagnosed with diabetes (all of this from personal experience). It didn't take me long to write these articles, since I am very passionate about this subject. I have gotten several hits on them, slowly but surely. I wrote a few articles about my favorite shows (NCIS, Supernatural, Buffy and Angel), putting a different spin on them and have gotten really good hits. It's also very fun to write about your favorite things, because as I said, it doesn't take long to write a good article when you love something or are passionate about it. And the article doesn't have to be all serious. In fact, I have noticed that AC pays more for articles that draw your attention to something in a weird way. I was paid very good upfront payments for articles like, "5 Songs That Should Never Have Been Written And Why", or a debate article about which Joss Whedon show was better, Buffy or Angel. And even though these shows are no longer on the air, there are still passionate fans out there that will have read or will read, the article. I have recently written an article entitled "10 Things Every NCIS Fan Expects To See On Each Show." I just got an offer on it Friday where AC paid me a better upfront payment than my article on diabetes and school. See my point? I guess I will find out how many fans will read the article once it is published. That's why it is always good to write a mixture of different topics.
Don't try to write about something simply because you think it will draw in a lot of views. It shows in your writing and hurts you in the end. Believe me, I know. I have learned that from experience. When I write an article, I want it to be the best I can make it and writing about something you don't really care about or don't understand will drag you down, especially at Helium where you are rated by other writers. They are not stupid. They know when your heart is in your writing. I have not been to Helium for a few months and my star rating has gone down. I am proud to say that I got up to 3 stars with only 20 articles, simply because I earned an extra star for being so high in each category I wrote in. That was until I tried to write about something I didn't really want to and ended up dragging my percentage down.
I hope I have helped you in some small way. I know I have rambled on and on but I noticed you did not mention AC or Triond in your post. I may get upset with AC when I think I should have gotten a more upfront payment than what I have received, but as far as paying you on time, etc...they are great. It takes about a week to start getting offers, but if you write a few articles every day, you will always have offers or money coming in after that week is up. And they do pay within 24 hours after you accept the offer. I have heard good things about Triond and am going to try this site as well. Constant Content - I might check out.
Give AC a look-see. If you want to see what types of articles I am writing then go to http://www.associatedcontent.com/user/240797/cathy_miller.html and check out my articles. And make sure if you join AC and start writing for them that you friend me and let me know. That way I can subscribe to your writing. It will give you more ppvs and I am curious and excited to see how it works out for you.
Best of luck.

If you view my profile you can find some of the things I've written about Helium.
Constant Content is a site for selling articles, where the author receives 65%, the rest goes to Constant Content as commission.
Articles already published on the web can only be offered on Constant Content with usage rights.
Articles of 500 to 1000 words seem to sell best at Constant Conetent. There is also a list of articles wanted on the site.

I don't agree with revenue share sites like Helium or Associated Content. They attempt to pay a small upfront payment that's supposed to make writers feel a bit better about the ridiculously low pay - but it's still not adequate compensation for the amount of work you put in.
I use Constant Content occasionally because you have the freedom to set your own prices for each article. You have the option of selling the entire rights to the article or you can allow clients to purchase just usage rights.
For example: If a client wants the entire rights to something I wrote, then I'll charge $80-$100 for those rights. I'm only going to sell that article once, so I want to be compensated for my efforts.
But if I say they can only buy usage rights, then I'll enter it as $8-$10 per usage. The good part about that is you could potentially make 10 sales from that same article.
If you're going to write, have the confidence to be sure you're being compensated for your work and your effort.s
