Pretend you ARE your favorite superhero or book character. Write about one day in your/his/her life, from your viewpoint. Tell of all the trials, tribulations, and triumphs that are yours/theirs that day.

I was thinking about this exercise in terms of one of my favorite writers, Jane Austen, and all the wonderful characters she has created when I read Sam's (above) response about Winnie-the-Pooh and suddenly it struck me that using a children's book character (Alice in Wonderland? or how about poor Jane who only gets to See Jane. See Jane run. sort of activity) might be even more fun! This sounds like a great writing exercise. Who are you choosing? You need to post something to get this started.

Are you sure? But won't I be competing with everyone else then? (Oh man! How do I choose? Should it be Storm, Anita Blake, Aphrael, ... Man, how can I make a choice? What do I do? HELP...)

Your idea really did get me thinking. I am planning to do the "See Jane" story and try and make it humorous. I'll let you know if I come up with a whole story.

Catwoman. She might be a villain, but she's not a bad person. Ah, another wonderful day. I do my stretching exercises beside my faithful companions, 2 black panthers. When we finish, I swim in my outdoors pool. When I've gotten dressed, I take a long drive to downtown. then I walk through the jewelry store section. Such a lot of lovely colors... I crave emeralds and amethysts, all that glorious color. Later, when it's glorious night, I go back. It doesn't take much to shut off the alarms and take what I deserve. Wait! Did I just see a shadow? I quickly crouch, using the darkness as my cover. Was that a security guard? No! It's Batman! Darn the luck! (Not that I mind seeing him, such a magnificent body... But he just doesn't have any humor) I quickly run, but he's very fast. I prepare for battle, my mind racing. We trade a few blows, but my heart isn't really in it. I don't want to hurt him, I just want my sparklies and he doesn't understand the thrill I get from stealing. I pretend to go down, injured. He's quickly there, worried about me. Isn't that sweet? I wrap my arms around him and let my kiss linger, before I shove the tranquilizer dart in his back. I arrange his body, and make a quick call to Gordon. I've noticed those two seem to be friends. I leave, but wait nearby to make sure Gordon is the first one there. Can't risk being seen, but I want to make sure he's ok. Then back to my place. I've made a lovely catch, gotten a kiss, and just had a wonderfully fun night. Ah, this is the life! Did I pass?
