Hot dogs used to be a cheap meal, not anymore. A pack of hot dogs, consisting of eight dogs, runs about $4.00 or more. If there is a family of five, and each person has two hot dogs, you would have to buy two packs. My husband used to love hot dogs, and now he won't even eat them. I do not buy them much these days because of the price, and he may eat two, and not want anymore, so if I forget to put the uneaten ones in the freezer, they go bad, so I do not even buy them anymore. I thought children never got tired of hot dogs.

Ok where do you live or what store are you going to? The hot dogs I usually get are hardly ever over $1.65 for a pack of 8-10, are you buying like Hebrew National or one of the higher priced dogs? Have you tried BarS or Hygrade?

you need sides with your hotdogs and chili. if you get one hotdog and load it up with chili, onions, mustard and maybe some shredded cheese. then you have some french fries, potato tots or onion rings as sides you will have a whole meal. get crinkle cut fries

We don't have hotdogs very often unless they have a good sale on them. IGA just had oscarmayer on sale 10 for 10 so I have been creative on how I fix them. Yesterday we had had dogs cut up with peppers and onions in tomato sauce. I served it over rice. A few days ago we had hotdogs wrapped in crescent rolls. I made an omelette with hot dogs in it for breakfast one morning. We had chili dogs one day and beanie weinies another. The other 5 packs are in the freezer waiting for another bout of inspiration.

I only purchase 3 or 4 packages of hot dogs a month so we don't have them often but when I do, I always purchase the cheapest ones and have not run into one that I didn't like yet. WalMart often has reasonable prices for hot dogs, both national brands and store brands, have you ever tried them?

When I was a kid hotdogs were a treat, I loved them, we used to have little boys with mash as we used to call it, they are little hot doggy things with mashed potato and lots of tomato sauce, these days i like to to mix a bit of hot american mustard in with the tomato sauce, kids usually jump for joy for hot dogs...

You know it's funny when I was young I can remember eating hot dogs but mostly at cookouts, I am originally from the north east states (Connecticut) and no one had better hot dogs than a place called Frankie's Hot dogs. Buying them was a different story, I loved the Russler's Hot dogs, large dog with a crisp skin when cooked, but can't seem to get them in Illinois where I am now.
