There are some religions in this world, in which the worshiping of god is done by sacrificing some animals in a cruel way. I feel disgusting about this. How do you guys feel?

The Taoists always pray with animal offerings. Sometimes in the temple, seeing those food make me hungry. There are roasted pig, roasted chicken, roasted ducks and cooked fish dishes. It is fortunate that all the animals are killed in the factory, and we just bought the chicken, duck and pig to cook. In a sense, it is not as cruel as sacrificing live animals. I hope that the animals are at least killed mercifully, and do not suffer. It is very cruel to make people and animals suffer. I doubt God will be happy to see suffering.

Hello friend!!! I can't really see anything being killed such a way. Here what is done is that, people cut the head of the animals and drop the blood of the innocent animals around the temple. I can't just see it and If I saw it accidentally, then I get too much emotionally disturbed. My heart immediately goes in place of that innocent animal and cant just get my mood in the right place for about a day and even more than that. It is very disgusting that I can't do anything except pray for the animals for the relief soon. This just makes me too much mad.... And due to this reason I turned myself to vegetarian. I know there is not going to be too much different on me not eating the meat. But at least I believe, in my whole life time, I save about 5 to 10 lives not eating the meat hehe... And with this I am not against the non vegetarians. Only I am the single vegetarian in my family. I can't stop them, who likes to eat. But the main problem is that, I can't see others being killed so mercilessly though they are innocent. Well I can't do anything, this is the nature of life. The stronger ones dominates the weaker ones, which is the very true theory and the very heart breaking fact for me and I know, there are many other people in the world who feels like me. Its not that I am vegetarian since the childhood. By now, I think its about 10 years gone that I have quit meat. At first I felt difficult, but as I stopped eating them for about a year, then naturally I hated the smell of meat, don't mind...And now, I would feel like to vomit if accidentally even a small piece of meat enter my mouth....But I have to say I am not strict vegetarian. I still eat eggs... Thanks for responding Scheng1...And have a nice time...

Well, Killing animals to worship, this is the very thing that took the belief of existence of god away from me. I don't believe in god and not in religion too. Offering of life in the religion is the weakest point of the religion. Though my family is Hindus, no they don't offer any animals, but still go to many temples and mostly my mother and also insist me that I should pray to god for success. And when she tells this, I always objected, no the god is not in temple. And when I gave the example of the offering culture, my mother couldn't insist me more on this. No matter during worship or in butchers shop, killing is always done mercilessly. And Cheng, how is the killing for meat done there. Can you share it here. Least mercifully means how, without any sharp things? Every animals are targeted at the neck here, very cruel. Buffaloes, chickens, goat, everything... I will be waiting for your response...

It is very cruel to kill the animals in this way. No matter how the religion explains this, it is still very cruel. Most religions will say that offering animals is to take away our sin. In this case, there is no need to make the animals suffer. After all, they are not doing all the wrong things. I still eat meat, even though can live without meal for a few weeks. Maybe seeing the animals kill in such cruel way will make me into a vegetarian too.

I believe in God, but am not very religous. I do not think God would want us to sacrifice a life of any kind. God created all life, why would he want us to destroy it?

Hello jenna44288!!! Well this was the weakest point about the religions that took up my belief upon the religion and the god. Religion, and god, feels like everything is man made. There is no real truth in it. I don't believe the god is the one who cares for the living creatures in this world. NO. if you look and analyze carefully the facts of this world, it is very rude, where one has to kill or suppress others for the existence of life. Take the example of tiger killing deers. And there are numerous such examples. Rather than the definition of the good given by the religions, what I believe is there is surely some power, some process that controls the living beings on earth, not the one who cares the living beings. And that is the definition of god to me... Thanks for responding my discussions Jenn44288!!! I am glad to find you in the discussions. Keep mylotting...See you again and again...

..i believe in God as well as in the bible.. as far as I understand from the new testament bible, it says there that Jesus was sacrificed once in for all to pay for our sins.. and no other blood could ever clean the sins of man again.. During the old, testament, it was a practice to sacrifice animals to please God.. however, nowadays, God wants us to be a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to Him.. that's why I don't believe in sacrificing animals as a form of worship.. I consider it as useless..

I say to clean the sin of a man, sacrificing another life is the greatest sin of all. Whatever the religion in we study in lower grades in school as a moral science that we must be kind to animals but this fails when it comes to god. Still there are many sacrificing of animals in the name of worshiping in our society which is toooooooooooooo bad.
