Getting Motivation

Hey everyone. I started weight lifting when I was a softmore in high school and by the time I was a senior I was very dedicated and pretty muscular, strong and into to weight training. The problem however is that my senior year of high school towards the end I broke my hand and that injury was a good 5+ plus off from weight training. Now it has been 3 years and I have still not been able to get motivated to get started again. I am struggling very much with the motivation and energy that I used to have, even though I really liked how I looked and felt. What I am looking for is help to get motivated enough to wake up before my full time job and my full time family to go work out or at least a start towards the process of motivation. I would also like some tips on getting more energy. What do you all think is it too late to get started or is there something that I am missing as far as motivation goes? Any help would be great.

The best way is to start small. Sometimes people try to go right back to their old routines, burn out, and then never go back. I'd start with 1-2 days of strength training. You can build up to more. If you add in your cardio, start at 10-20 minutes 3 days a week and build up in 5-10 minute increments from there. Once you have been doing this consistantly you're own body will motivate you. You can also add in things you want for doing so many days per week. Perhaps a new item of clothing, or what not. Good luck! Anora
