City of God ( Cidade de Deus) is a 2002 Brazilian film directed by Fernando Meirelles and Kátia Lund, . It was adapted by Bráulio Mantovani from the 1997 novel of the same name written by Paulo Lins which are both based on a true story...It has got world wide attention and is a widely acknowledged one.. The story is about the teenage mob gangs that used to rule the Brazilian streets in early 80's .The movie goes on along the fights between these mob gangs most of them headed by teenage black guys who would do anything to take the lead.. The cinema has many violent scenes and that too involving little children. The movie moves around the Fued with Lil ze ,a guy in his early twenties and another guy Knockout ned who was forced to enter the scene by Ze. The story is narrated by another guy Rocket who happens to be a reporter...The storyline and casting is too strong and the effort made by the makers to picturise city of God as it is in the book has to be praised.. Overall its a great movie ..In fact one of the very bests...Watch it and have a good time..
