Raging Bull is a 1980 biographical film directed by Martin Scorsese, adapted by Paul Schrader and Mardik Martin from "Raging Bull: My Story". It stars Robert De Niro as Jake LaMotta, a cocky ,somewhat Pscycic boxer who happens to be the best at his times. Film is also blessed with the presence of Joe Pesci as Joey, La Motta's brother and manager, and Cathy Moriarty as his wife. The movie throws light into to the life and career of Jake Lamotta..He was a world champion ,considered by many as the next best thing..But his personal life and his attitude prevented it..The film gives more importance to his life than his career and is considered by many as one of the greatest movies ever made... Another thing is the commitment of Robert de Niro in portraiting the character..He has put on massive amount of weight just for this movie..and this role is considered by many as the best one he ever did.. Its another Scorsese classic which cannot be missed..Watch if you haven't already...Have a good time

Actually I've been looking a copy of this film in dvd because I read excellent reviews about this film, in fact all groups in the internet listed this as one of the greatest films of all time. This could have been an Oscar potentials in 1990 as Best Picture and Best director for Martin Scorcese, but they lost it to Kevin Costner's Dances with wolves. But this film is really one of the bests and I want to see this, together with other great films(Ben Hur, Casablanca, Gone with the winds, war of the roses) in dvd, hopefully I can get a copy soon.
