There are two main situations when the word BRIBE comes in peoples mind: 1) to bribe an officer (drive too fast, drive against rules, did any kind of breach; 2) to bribe a clerk (public sector employee) to make things move faster, safer, prettier. Have you though of bribing? If yes, in what kind of situations? And have you done it?

I have never bribed a police or other law enforcement body by own choice. Clerk wise, we were encouraged and advised to fork over 10 euros once when we were crossing into Bulgaria from Romania, to be left alone and pass safely.

Yes we have bribed a police officer a few months back when we were in our way to amusement park the last check post was there as my friend borrowed car from a friend the car papers were missing so NO insurance no PUC. Well alltogether we were have to give 6000/-rs fine so we bribed him just by giving 1000/- rs and we were free. Man 6000/-rs such a high fine i can't afford to pay that fine. Its good sometimes that police are corrupted but at the same time i feel bad though. I don't know what is rite here. What you guys say??

Hello! In these days bribery is very common in all countries.Without bribery no personal work can be done in any branch of the office. From top to bottom all are corrupt.Unless you pay some money your file would not move from the bottom and when it reaches the top man you will have to reward him properly else your file would return back without sanction.Yes,of course I have given bribes to the clerks in several occasions to get sanction of my dues and in some occasions I have also entertained the officers. But in my life I have not accepted any bribe from my juniors.thanx.

Not really a "bribe" but, when my husband and I were getting ready to put a contract down on the house we are getting ready to close on, the owners were home when we were showing it to my parents. It was two older ladies, I kept walking around rubbing my belly and saying how the baby would like this house and I think we can raise our child here blah blah blah. Totally not pregnant. I knew that there was another contract being put on the house at the same time that we were. So I made point to talk to the owners and let them know my name so they could remember it when they saw the contract. That's all that matters..

First thing didn't happen to me. But second thing happened to me a few times. One was during getting approval of my house's sketch. If it got delayed there was a possibility for the price of materials to go up. So I paid the bribe and got the approval. Next time it was during purchase of another property nearby. Again, if it got delayed there was a chance of missing that one. I paid the bribe and got the loan sanctioned immediately.

Bribery is a form of monetary corruption which is common in every country. It is common among rich and poor, high management and labour. While bribery is increasing, i dont see any compaign or a programme running against bribery - like an Anti-bribery compaign, etc I've never been bribed but probably been attempted to by some guys in past.
