My mom told me I wouldn't like it but she saw one about twenty years ago and hasn't seen the newer ones. I would really like to have one, I don't really like doing dishes. My kitchen is 85 years old and I'd have to tear out some cabinets to put in a dishwasher so I was thinking about getting one that sits on the counter. Anyone have one of these or know someone who does? Any opinions?

I have never seen a counter top dishwasher before. I did not know they made them. Is it a really little one? It sounds like it would be a cool idea. I have a big old dishwasher that is built in.

They cost about $200 and they hold 4 place settings, perfect for me. But I've heard some people complain about the noise and that they don't work very well. I'd love to have one if it worked well.

Is yours a counter top dishwasher? If so, was it costly?

DishWasher - Space saver dishwasher
I don't know anyone that that have a dishwasher that fits on the counter but I do have a dishwasher(space saver) that have a counter top and is on wheels. Easy to move from the corner of my kitchen to the sink to hook up. It's made by GE and its an EnergySaver product.

I'm thinking about getting something like that. The ones I saw were very expensive so unless the price goes down I'll continue the handwash them! Someone gave me a link to one that sits on a countertop but I'm not altogether sure I want something that small.

my neighbour had one for a bout a month. it was really loud, in the way and didn't do the best job. she gave it away, she said she can clean dishes better and faster than that

My aunt lives by herself and we got her one for Christmas. She loves it. It isn't loud at all. It works well for her because she doesn't have that many dishes. Here is the website that we otrderd hers from http://www.taylorgifts.com It was 119.98 + 4.98 for shipping. It took it 5 days to get to us. Good Luck

That's weird looking but I like that it uses no electricity. Thank you for the link, I'll put it on my list of options--the price is certainly right!!

My ex came home with a counter top dishwasher when we lived together and I have to say that it was pretty much the goofiest appliance I have ever seen. They are still a few hundred dollars, it didn't clean very well at all and the water would leak out after you had unhooked it. Of course we may have just had an inferior model (you may get some better recommendations from others) but I hated that thing. It was less of a hassle to just wash the dishes the old fashioned way. You can get portable ones that are the same size as a built in, they are on wheels and you just hook it up to the kitchen sink. I would suggest looking into one of those (if you can fit it in your kitchen) before wasting your $$ on a counter top model.

I was looking at some of the ones that you can wheel around, they have some pretty nice ones. Thanks for telling me your experience, it helps a lot!
