Do a hot oil treatment and then use a leave in conditiner , massage it into your scalp. The dandruff is coming from you scalp so try to find products that are for dry scalp. Good luck ............ Cheryl

Try to get a line of products with a purifier in them . Also drink alot of water to keep your skin and scalp hydrated. Cheryl

Shampooing may keep your hair cleaner; however, it can make the dandruff worse as it can dry out your scalp worse. Your scalp needs more moisture. We used to use Mayonnaise to lubricate our scalp. That also can make your hair greasy which requires more shampooing. Here in the US, we have shampoo named Head & Shoulders that seemed to help. Sometimes age helps as your skin changes & the dandruff may just go away. Not knowing what you have available to you in your country, I can only suggest that you find a shampoo that is not too harsh to your scalp. I wish you luck with this problem.

I'm NOT a dude. After reading what #2 said, he may be correct. I also used Hot Oil treatments. They didn't leave my hair quite so greasy as the Mayonnaise but might have moistened my scalp. You might want to try & shampoo every other day. That way you don't dry your scalp out as much & you're still keeping your hair & scalp clean.

scalp with dandruff - dandruff is a fungal infection of the scalp. antifungal preparations like ketoconazole & zinc pyrithione may help.
hey friend. I have the same problem. My scalp is very oily & has a lot of sebaceous secretions everyday. My doctor said that the vicious cycle of dandruff & sebum secretion is complementary to one another. I have tried a lot of anti dandruff products & medicated preparation but they go away only to recur after someday.I think getting a close shave for the scalp & applying antidandruff preparation on it would be a best option. thank you for the discussion.have a nice time at mylot.

yes dandruff is big problem to somebody.and more itching will be there with it. i don;t have that problem . dandruf can be cured by massaging the hair for half an hour with curd. or with few drops of lime juice mixed with indian gooseberry juice every night before going to sleep . dilute cider veneger with an equal quantity of water and dab this on hair with cotton wool in between shampooing. cider veneger added to the final rinsing water after shampooing also helps to disperse dandruff. avoid citrus fruits ,bananas ,tinned fruits. take raw food especially fresh fruits and vegetables. avoid strong tea/coffee ,pickles, refined and processed food, sugar, meat, white flour.

there's this 'orange' back here in my home town that helps to reduce dandruffs. we call it 'limau nipis'. and i'm not that sure was is it call in english. i'll get back to you later when i know it ok? i'll just have to ask around. and i hope you have it it there in your country. all you have to do is use it as a 'shampoo' once a day. i'm sure to get back to you later.

and to add a little. try to lessen the use of too many chemicals on your scalp. go for herbal and organic product.

hello dear... i know how bad and uncomfortable it is to have dandruff all over your head. first of let me tell yuo something dear. there are 2 kinds of dandruff : oily and dry. if you use exess of oil, you may have chances of oily dandruff. but because you said that you you shampoo your hair daily, its quite sure that you have dry dandruff i.e; no oil in scalp. what i recommend is, have a hot oil massage once in a week. keep it for an hour and wash it off with shampoo. if it still doesn't go i think you should consult a dermatologist. shampooing your hair daily is not a good idea dear. god luck :)

i am lucky in this case, though my hair are not so healthy and beautiful, i don't have this dandruff problem at all. I know many people feel it very embarassing, when it falls down on your shoulders and makes your impression down, but i have never faced this problem. You can try consulting doctor, i have heard that applying curd, lemon etc helps.
