Well, i watch more TW dramas because i need not wait for subs. But long gone were the days where i follow nearly every kdrama. Now it seems that Jdramas are the "IN" thing. I find that Jdramas have better plots. I love those detective style plots. I think they're original & very stimulating for the mind. TWDramas are just for me to relax and laugh. Because most of their shows are too "drama" in my point of view. KDramas normally end with one party dying or some forbidden love. I end up crying and feeling miserable.. That's one reason why i stopped. What about you?

i know what you mean. Some korean ones are honestly very very SWEET! like my sassy girl. But as for jdramas, i normally go for those mystery or detective ones.

I watch many Jdramas because they often have a nice plot- like you said- and a nice theme. Their storylines are often very real to life and many of them are human dramas. They are shorter though, approximately 12 episodes for each drama, so there's no need for them to drag out a plot. I also like to watch TWdramas especailly when i'm stressed out and need some light comedy. I share your opinion that a lot of them are too "drama" for my taste. The less dramatic ones may be those mainland mixed in dramas. They are more down to earth then. I tried watching a few Kdramas but couldn't catch on to them cause i don't like how they play out a plot. Too melodramatic. Although i like "The 1st Shop of Coffee Prince" because it contains more slice of life.
