This movie was the underdog at the golden globe awards and yet it won a lot of awards including the best movie, music director, etc. I finally got to see it last week and it was simply amazing. I dint know that the movie was 150 mins long as I never realized the time pass by. I initially thought it would be too "Indianish" for some foreigners but believe me most of the people in the theatre here in AZ, USA loved it. The storyline is very simple though very different. The highlight of the movie is the direction, screenplay and in particular the background score by A.R.Rahman which is really bold, nothing compared to the other American movies. The actors in the movie did their job perfectly and on the whole everything about the movie has perfectly come along together and the result is a perfect entertainer. P.S: I have a friend in Italy and he actually saw the movie before me and suggested me watch the movie and so is the International appreciation for the movie.

i love this movie. we get to see the real side of India too. The rich and elite don like it so much sayin it portrays the dirty and smurky side of the India, but tats the reality and it is happening in their neighbourhood and what have they done to uplift that section of the people. M really happy that the movie is an international hit. Kudos to all.

Very true the movie portrays the best and the worst of India. And now that it is an International hit I am sure people all over the world will appreciate the diversity of India.

Hello kdeepak1984, I have not seen the movie but I am hoping to soon. I know of A.R. Rahman for his music, yeah he is really great. The music that I heard first he did was from the movie Dil Se from the year 1998.

That was one of his classic creations. The best thing about him is that each of his songs are totally different and creative and yet they really catch on to you. He is the best!

Haven't seen it yet but I am eager to do so. I started reading Q&A, the book it's based on, and may try to finish the book before I see the movie. The story is very interesting, but also I've heard some of the music from the movie and have enjoyed it. I can see why A.R. Rahman won the Golden Globe for his score to the movie.

Yeah I heard the book is great! And definitely AR Rahman deserved the award for the music. The movie however has alot of other positives, you should definitely watch the movie.
