Can we start a life with USD 1000 in hand in US?

i believe it is possible. i have relocated over night. i bought a bus ticket and arrived in a new town with $200 and a bag of my stuff. first thing i did was made friends, and convinced them to let me stay at there house for two week for a $100 (no easy task it was luck)i had a job cooking at a retirment home with in a week and it only went up from there. and my friends decided i could live there permantly (well i went back home after 3 month's) but if you want somethin bad enough anything is possible, not easy but possible.
