I do not think anyone of us here, does not visit search engines like Baidu, Google, Yahoo and etc. at any point of our time on the internet. So, I am sure you will appreciate the ease with finding the relevant queries and knowledge. Gone are the days where we will need to go through so much cumbersome tasks of retrieving and reading them. Not forgetting the heavy volumes of reference books and encyclopedias. Now that the digital highway is being made readily available for all who are able to get onto the super highway, we can now readily have whatever information we want in the comforts of our own home's couch. Like they say about the whole world being at the tip of our fingers. Yet, amidst of the information that is in abundance and abounding one cannot deny the fact that the information out there is mostly questionable nowadays. As netizens and newbies are being more computer literate and savvy, creating web pages and websites is just so simple. Postings are just easy and so now the net is amassing in significant numbers. However, I just have a niggling discomfort about the massing. And my worries are not unfounded. For if you are to conduct a search today, you may be like me be amazed by the amount of write upped information. Yet, you will have a hard time trying to discern and decide if the retrieved is actually authentic, accurate and most of all not a scam or fraudulent. Some of us may be mature, street wise, discerning and cautious enough to tell. However, people of these traits aren't just common and in majority of those who use the net. So, I am just wondering here if established search engine establishments should now go about emphasizing quality over quantity. Authenticity over scams and frauds. I am rambling here, but if you look a little deeper I think you will see some logic here. I think this is the least they could help to prevent and stop scams and frauds from thriving and claim another victim. So, much about this from me here. Do you have any better and constructive suggestions here? Let's hear it people. P.S. I am considering forwarding this discussion to the relevant search engines and maybe setup a policing body to assist them with the screening and quality management here - on the grounds that this discussion could produce a proactive result. So, fire away and keep it coming fellow myLotters!!

That a good idea though, but if the search giants make any move of that sort it will result in a drastic decrease in their revenue & I think no company would take such a big risk in doing a social work to the people by compromising its revenue. But if this is implemented then for sure it would be a lot helpful for all the newbies out there & would also come as a big blow to those scam industry who just fake out people & money.

nigenh, I am sorry to disagree with you on the decrease in their revenue here. I would say that if they (search engines) could ensure a high percentage of quality and legitimacy in their search results for the end users, then I am sure that the revenue will be much more as compared to these temporary fills by these "fly by night" operatives. We will not only have an increase in revenue here but a consistent one as well from genuine legitimate businesses and contributors. It is just pure and plain logic whereby it pays to go the extra mile and establishments that are committed to excellence and care to the end users. Because such setups bring wealth to all parties and when all parties benefit what is there to consider to pay for service. I just feel that the policing from them will actually bring more benefits initially and revenues eventually. Thanks and do come forth with some ideas about this if you have. Cheers.

I think they should, but they probably won't. I mean what is it to them? They are still making the money and hasnt that been the way it is for a long time. But no harm in emailing the web master and see what they say. Go for it LOL!

baileycows, For starters, there will be more genuine and factual quality posts. It could make them above the rest of the wannabes. I am sure one cannot afford to miss out on the rewards and incentive perks for being exclusive, here. Besides, the time will come regulators will be looking into this area to protect the end users like you and me from being cheated and scammed. Yes, the webmasters and internet service providers as well since you've mentioned. Thanks for your thought response here and you have a nice day.
