Are you an organized writer?

I used to be very meticulous about how I kept everything on my desk. Rarely did it look like a paper explosion, and nothing ever seemed to get lost or misplaced. Those days are gone, however, for one reason or aother. My desk is an absolute mess. I clean it up, get everything organized . . . and it stays like that for about a half-day. I fill it with printed assignments that I need to file (when it gets filed is a good guess), notebooks, mail, magazines I'm using for research, paycheck stubs, office supplies, post-it notes, the kid's school work, and so on. Does this happen to you? Are you an organized writer?

I don't have a desk for writing. How's that for being organised? LOL! I work from home. The computer desk if filled with my husband's work. It is too messy that I don't write there anymore. I usually write in a notebook for ideas and transfer them all into my laptop before submitting the articles on the writing sites. I try to keep a couple of pens in my drawer. I always take them out and never put them back. I try to have just one notebook, but the temptation is hard. I try my best to be organised. When things get out of hand, I will clean up everything before I begin writing.

I have a theory that most writers have messy desks, and I try to keep it clean but I can't find anything that way...haha..so it just gets messy after one or two hours..:D

If you mean by organized, the entire desk is filled with paper and notebooks and what not, totally! I'm so organized, I can find a pen anywhere! Just cause I have about a 100 of them stashed throughout the house means nothing. As long as I can find a pen (somewhere under all the paper, none of them are in the pen holder) and a piece of paper to write on (flip that piece over and write on the back...), I don't have a problem.
