Dark Crystal

Has anyone seen Dark Crystal? It's by the same creators and is based on Brian Froud's artwork just as Labyrinth was, and most fans of Labyrinth that I know are Dark Crystal fans too. I've got got round to seeing it yet, has anyone else?

I watched that movie about fifteen or sixteen years ago for the first time and, somehow, it managed to get into our movie collection as an adult. I thought it was a dark and heavy movie for someone my age to be watching, but it wasn't a bad movie. I have a nine year old now, but I don't think he'd be interested.

So, do you enjoy it more now that you're older, or do you just have it but rarely watch it?

My sister in law was telling me just last night that they are coming out with a sequel to it next year sometime. I have never seen Dark Crystal before, but I watched Labyrinth for the first time last night.

Dark Crystal is definitely one of my favourite movies. I have both Labyrinth and Dark Crystal on DVD, and I thought I had all of the Henson Creature Shop movies, but there's another, darker, movie called MirrorMask by Neil Gaiman. If you like these two movies, and have grown up a bit and want a slightly scarier movie then check out Mirror Mask, it's the same director as Coraline.

I absolutely loved the Dark Crystal. Jim Henson did such a great job on the puppets. The theme of the movie and the morals still hold true. The idea of loyalty, love, family, endurance, preserverence, and dedication were strongly portrayed in the movie.

I bought Brian Frouds book "Fairies" it's amazing. All of his art kinda resembles each other. You can tell if it's his work. There's something about his fairies that catches your attention. Saw the dark crustal and it's also amazing. Great work by the late Jim Henson too.
