Is your boss a generous person?

I met a friend the other day and he told me about his company dinner which was held in a pub (it's also a restaurant). Alcoholic drinks were not provided due to the cost and extra charges, but the big boss or the managing director actually went on stage and forced all the guys to donate $50 into the so-called "drinking fees" in order to have enough money to buy those drinks. To me, that was dirt cheap and it wasn't very nice. The director was driving a luxury car (BMW 7 series) whereas the rest of the employees are not really that rich and most of them don't drink.
I couldn't imagine if my boss is like that. It's so stingy. Fortunately my current boss is pretty generous and she always gets stuff for us (donuts, Starbucks, free lunches, etc).
What about you? Do you have a stingy or a generous boss?

My boss tries to make everyone think that she is really generous and would help anyone out but she is the total opposite. She has everyone believing that she does so much for us but she has taken more from us than she has ever given. If she goes and gets lunch and you give her your money not once have we ever gotten our change and come to find out one of the places we go gives are work a big discount and she was making us pay about four dollars more for our meals than it actually cost her. Sometimes she will pick something up for everyone and then she thinks the next day we need to buy her lunch. I try and stay away from eating with them and just bring something for me to eat since in the long run I was losing more money than I could afford.

Whoa, your boss is very calculative! I used to have this supervisor who would only be nice to you, if he needed a favor from you. He has never joined any of our birthday celebration but he surprised us by joining our birthday celebrations in July and August. Why? Because his birthday falls in August and he wanted us to celebrate for him.

I guess some people are just that way. I just try to stay out of it now and do my own thing.
