Pausing God?

I was watching the National Prayer Service (which is a service they do every first day following the Inauguration for a new presidential term) and it occurred to me because I have DVR on my TV that I could pause this service and go work on my poetry or Mylot. Two things which have taken up a lot of time today. That felt a little weird to me. Kind of like I was pausing God. But of course, because God is God and the master of technologies, I ran out of pause (DVR only lets you pause live TV for one hour) and had to choose between continuing my work on Mylot and poetry and watching the service. I chose to watch the service. I figured it was a historical event and I could always come back to Mylot and poetry later. Have you ever paused a church service on DVR? Did it feel strange to you too?
